Amazing product that serves as a fantastic introduction to wearables
I have used this sensor with the built in electrodes as well as attaching my own external sensor, and I'm impressed by how well this works right out of the box. The sensor is very robust, the readings are consistent, and I loved being able to adjust the gain on the fly when using different sensors/muscle locations. I would strongly recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in wearables and controlling tech with muscle movements.

Small but powerful
Needed this for a science class and it works just as it’s supposed to. Pretty easy set up with my teacher’s instructions and it was cool to see the data from our tests.

Easy setup, clean output, reliable sensor
Easy to setup and snap receptors are convenient for electrode conduction. The ADC provides a nice integer signal from 0-1023 and you can also receive raw analog EMG data by soldering a wire to the other side. Do basic analysis on an arduino or send the Serial data to a python script on your laptop to do so much more.

did not work and no instruction sheet
There are several thing wrong. first there is no information on voltage on amazon or on the EMG. there are only + and- symbols. After searchng the internet I found out its maximum voltage is 5 volts or burns out. Near the raw emg output there is a GND but it not for the RAW but for the optional shield. The ground for the RAW emg is on the opposite side of the board and is the - terminal of the power supply. I used an emg in the past and you have to have a connection to a bone end which which doesn't have any muscles around it for its instrumention amplifier to reject the noise on the body, The cable to this connection is only about 2 inches long which won't reach from bone end to center of muscle in many cases. So this cable is way too short. I spent several hours making a power supply of 4.5 volts and connections to the EMG to find out it doesn't work only the green and red leds light up. .The O-scope showed no output signal on any output. The company should spend more time on instructions and quality control and less time on talk about how great it is. A while ago I bought their previous model of EMG and it did not work either!

Packed with a lot of features but product lacks quality
I had to order 3 of the mayo wear because 2 of them burned out due to the chip unable to handle voltage higher than 5V. I recommend getting a voltage regulator for this product because they burn our easily. Product comes with pins that already amplifies and filters the signal. It also comes with pins that delivers raw emg signal. Works pretty well with matlab for graphing the signal. However the product does not accurately display raw emg signal using matlab if that's your main focus. Also on terms of design the off switch only works for disabling the amplified signal inputs. In other words if you connect the pins to the raw emg input you will continue to read data regardless of the power switch being on or off. I find that unfavorable because you can easily damage the chip if not careful.
