Weiss Valentine's Dark Chocolate Gingerbread Lebkuchen Herzen Cookies 150g/5.29 Oz - Pack of 2

I ordered these cookies just before Christmas and arrived timely. My mother was East German and I wished to celebrate the holiday with these, as it had been many years and couldn't find in a store. They actually came from Germany, as the label is not in English. The cookies were very good, as I remembered them and did purchase the dark chocolate lebkuchen. The pfeffernuse is fine, just a little stiffer then the other cookie. Dankeschoen!

Don’t bother. What a disappointment. They showed up SMASHED to bits. I thought, well, they probably taste the same. NOPE. They tasted like they were 10 years old. These are a Christmas staple since I lived in Germany in the early ‘80’s. Not anymore. They were disgusting and I had no choice but to throw them away.

Delicious dark chocolate coated spice cookie with apricot jam at the center. Delicious!

The Lebkuchen were so squeezed, they almost arrived in one piece. Good for individual cravings; but you can’t seriously offer this guests. Please work on your packaging/shipping.

Great tasting christmas cookies. Vendor should advertise that they are vegan. Quite a few family members are vegan and were happy to be able to enjoy them.

Delicious. Reminds me of my childhood Christmases. They were kind of squished though.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Lebkuchen. I usually get the Bahlsen brand but Amazon did not have any and I was craving some. I forgot I’d put them in the pantry when they arrived so didn’t open them for a couple of weeks. Upon opening them, there was not a single whole cookie in either bag (it was sold as a pack of two). I was terribly disappointed. I also for some reason thought I had bought them from Woodman’s grocery store so did not have a chance to contact customer service for a refund. I did have a bite of one of the larger piece in one of the bags and it was okay. It was didn’t taste fresh . I wish I had remembered that I’d bought it from Amazon so I could get replacements to write a more compelling review.

Very disappointed. Cookies were all broken, chocolate was already turning gray, they tasted old and stale. I guess optimal ordering time is only during Christmas holidays.
