Very good glasses!
I bought these for a friend that had just purchased a Sony 3Dtv. At the time, he was one of those people that wasn't in a hurry to purchase the 3D glasses. It was his birthday...so I bought him a pair. Months ago I bought a Panasonic 3Dtv from Amazon...and several 3D Blu-rays, so I knew how awesome the 3D would be on his tv. I even have the Panasonic exclusive Avatar 3D Blu ray so I mailed that movie, among others, to my friend so he could thoroughly check out the 3D on his tv. Which brings me to the first thing I loved about these glasses...the price. It was only 70 dollars...and for 3D shutter glasses, that's cheap. My Panasonic 3D glasses are currently 120 dollar a pair. It's the 2011 model as well. They are lighter than the 2010 model and has a built-in rechargable battery. It comes with a soft pouch case and the cable to plug it into the usb port on the side of the tv to recharge the batteries. Recharge time is excellent...a quick three minute charge will give three hours of viewing...and 45 minutes charge is a full charge giving up to 30 hours of viewing. My friend said they are so lightweight, you can barely feel them on your head. Once he watched my 3D Avatar, he was blown away. He thanked me for getting him these glasses for his birthday because he couldn't believe the 3D would look as good as it did. In some of the other movies, he did see some minor ghosting, but it's the same minor ghosting I see with my Panasonic glasses and tv in the same spots. So it's not the glasses or the tv in either of our cases, it's the Blu Ray transfer. Cause Avatar is flawless...so if they can release Avatar in 3D without ghosting, they should be able to do it will all 3D movies. These glasses are great...and apparently the 2011 model Sony 3Dtv's are great too since he watched Avatar 3D as good as I could watch it. Amazon delivered it on time...in perfect new condition. Won't hesitate to buy from Amazon again!!! You won't find better customer service anywhere. I made my Panasonic GT-25 3Dtv, Panasonic 3D Blu Ray Player, and the ultimate 3D kit will two pairs of 3D glasses and Avatar 3D bundle from Amazon at the same time. I wanted to review those, but I let too much time go by and now I don't have the option to review those. I would have given everything 5 stars and recommended buying all of it. I've spent quite a bit of money at Amazon.com and don't regret a penny of it. I've saved so much money here.

More comfortable and better performance than the pair that Sony provided with my TV
Make sure you check compatibility. The list in the description is far from complete. That said, I find these about twice as comfortable as the original glasses Sony included, and they are only a little bit heavier. I had to buy these because the original glasses cracked a shutter - they had an open design with very little protection. These provide much better protection for the shutters, which is good. Finding replacements is NOT easy. The most important part is how they perform though. They block out peripheral light quite well while also letting more light in through the shutters than the original pair. Battery life also seems to be very good. The old pair could get through 2 movies on charge... usually part way into a third. The new pair has lasted 3 movies and hasn't stopped yet. Overall, as long as you confirm that these are compatible with your TV, I recommend them.

These 3D glasses are a perfect component to my 3D Sony. When precisely synchronized they will deliver a fine concept of 3D technology. Which has evolved a few stages from the original introduction of viewing 3D over 50 years ago. I am most positive development in 3D will completely eliminate the necessity of their use. And, in a much sooner period of time since their last upgrade. With what they have to offer, they come at a very reasonable price. It would almost seem obvious they be included with the purchase of your unit. Although I assume, with keeping the primary cost of your unit at a competitive price, and with offering the consumer the option of the wide array of 3D glasses available, you are destined to research for the best product application and your preference. I am aware there are glasses with lesser and greater features, and at a multitude price range. However, as a most feasible application in fit with what technology has to offer today, these glasses are acceptable. With the quality of construction, these glasses should endure and suffice my need until technology obsoletes their use. In order to contain the working internal electronics they require, comes with the huge, yet lighter than expected frame, with a slight tunnel-vision viewing. So until the 3D effect can be developed into the unit alone, I will keep purchasing these glasses and tolerate the huge frame even in exchange for a frameless concept or a contact lens version.

Doesn't work with our glasses
We both wear glasses. These are advertised as "Fits comfortably while wearing glasses". While they do fit over my glasses, comfortable is NOT the experience I had. They rested on the top of my frames and felt incredibly heavy. I couldn't tolerate them more than a minute or so. Even with that short of time, my nose still felt 'odd' for an hour or more afterwards. Also, they sat so far out that I was seeing the shadow of the divider between the two frames. Not the clear view I would want while watching a move. My husband couldn't even get the 3D classes to fit over his frames. They are being returned.

All you need!!
If you own a Sony Bravia, then these are for you.Book that came with them says charge about twice a year, and the few 3-D channels I get now are an eye popping experience. They charge on a usb port, cable included, with a nice little bag to put them in,when not in use.The simulated 3-D effect is more deep looking but not as eye popping as stuff made for 3-D.One thing I like when talking or looking else where besides the tv,its just like have light shades on,nothing looks really weird. On yea they have an auto shutoff too,no signal for 5 minutes and power goes off.

Comparison of 3 Different 3D Sony Compatible glasses
I recently bought a Sony Bravia KDL-55NX720 which is 3d capable but comes without glasses. The 3d factor was of interest to me and being a bit of an electronics geek. I had to get 3d glasses and check it out. Rather than getting just one type of 3D glasses I decided to get 3 different compatible glasses and check them out. The three glasses I got are: Xpand X103 Sony TDG-BR250 PlayStation 3 3D Glasses I wear rimless bifocal lenses that are 32 mm tall. For comfort I would rank the glasses as follows: 1. Sony TDG-BR250 3. PlayStation 3D glasses 3. Xpand X103 All of the glasses worked over my prescription glasses but I found the Sony TDG-BR250 to fit over my glasses best and to be the most comfortable. I found the Xpand X103 the least comfortable though they are OK and I don't really have an issue sitting through a movie. Based on other reviews, the comfort level varies quite a lot from viewer to viewer. Both the PlayStation glasses and the Xpand were a little more awkward to get adjusted over the glasses. So for me, that was probably the biggest comfort factor. None of the nose pieces that came with the Xpand gave me a great fit. The PlayStation glasses had an adjustable nose piece that worked better for me. For 3d performance I would rank them in the following order: 1. PlayStation 3D glasses 2. Xpand X103 3. Sony TDG-BR250 The PlayStation 3D and the Sony TDG-BR250 resulted is similar colors and brightness. I think I got the most flickering with the BR250s but hard to say on that count, none were bad. The TDG-BR250 looked good as long as you kept your head level, if you tilted it even slightly to the left or right, the picture got lighter and there was abundant crosstalk. The crosstalk issue with these glasses is really pretty bad and is responsible for the low rating. The PlayStation glasses have a polarization filter that reduces the crosstalk and it definitely works. The Xpand 103 glasses were similar to the PlayStation glasses with crosstalk performance. You could tilt your head left or right and the picture didn't change much. However; the picture was a touch darker with the Xpand glasses and the colors were a touch different. I liked the brighter picture and the color rendition of the Sony glasses better. You could probably adjust your picture so that the Xpand glasses would give you a similar color/brightness profile if you were just using Xpand glasses. The color and brightness wasn't so different that watching programing with the different brands would be a big deal. I know the Xpand 103 glasses work for brands other than Sony. They were easy to synch with my Sony Bravia TV. I believe the SonyPlaystion glass are also universal for infrared (but not the newer Bluetooth) systems. They are listed as compatible with Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and Sharp Active Shutter 3D. At least for the Sony system, they synced automatically. The TDG-BR250 are meant for Sony systems. Both sets of Sony glasses are rechargeable. The Xpand uses an easy to get inexpensive battery. I haven't had the the system long enough to know which I prefer. It is really going to depend on how long the battery lasts on the Xpands versus how often the Sony's need to be charged and how well they hold their charge if unused for a period of time. Since I use the Xpand battery type for a locator system I use to find my cats when they go outside, I always have a ready supply of the batteries. I'm guessing I would actually prefer the battery system, which I assume will not need batteries very often, to recharging. The Sony's are supposed to only need 3 minutes of charging for an hour of viewing so they charge fast. Still, stuff that recharges tends to not stay charged if it sits around unused for a period of time. I can see it being a pain if someone comes over and wants to check out the 3d but the glasses need charging. Same goes if we get more content on TV. Batteries tend to not run down for a long time when idle and can be changed immediately (IF you have the batteries on hand) if they are dead. Here's my final rank 1. SonyPlaystation 3D glasses 2. Xpand 103 3d glasses 3. Sony TDG-BR250 There are polarizing filters available from Sony for the TDG-BR250 that are supposed to correct the crosstalk issue. I ordered a pair from Sony today at no cost. If they work, I might raise the Sony TDG-BR250 to the top of the list since, for me, they are the most comfortable. I gave the PlayStation glasses a 4 star ranking and would rank these a little higher with the crosstalk issue solved. I will report back, and perhaps change my ranking, when I get the filters. Still, one should not have to go to the trouble of getting an extra part in order to make a product useable. Update: I got the polarizing filters and they do help considerably with the crosstalk issue. I can now tilt my head and not lose the 3d affect. It did take Sony a few weeks to get the polarizing filters to me but there was no charge. With the filters I would move the Sony TDG-BR250 to number 2 and above the Xpand 103s. I increased my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. The fact that you have to ask for a fix keeps this from being a 4 star product. None of the active shutter glasses should be ranked as 5 star, in my opinion, because they are heavy and somewhat clumsy.

Better Than Expected
I purchased these glasses to go with a Sony XBR-55HX929. Having gotten over the fact that Sony did not include these glasses with one of their most expensive TVs, I decided that I couldn't wait any longer and had to try out the 3D. The glasses come with a storage bag (similar to Oakley sunglasses) and USB charging cables. They work via an IR signal and not bluetooth, which shouldn't be a problem because if you aren't in direct view of your TV, the glasses wouldn't be of much use to you. I thought the glasses might be uncomfortable to wear while watching TV, but they weren't bad and after a while you get used to having them on. The glasses have a nice charge time and hold the charge well. The specs show 30 min charge time for 30 hours use. My one complaint is the size of the lenses. They aren't very tall so you can see the bottom part of the frame in your peripheral view. Besides that, no real complaints outside of them not being included with the TV and the price.

Amazing and confortable!
I was weary of 3d technology and wasn't sure if it was for me. I had bought a PlayStation 3D TV a few months back and I thought it was pretty cool. After that I was in need for a new living room TV as my last one was warrantied out and I had a check waiting for my decision. I ended up on a Sony KDL46NX720. The pair of glasses that came with the ps display were alright but, I wanted another pair for guests and a better pair for myself. I ordered the BR250 and they are amazing. It has a great design, is rechargeable (I am able to recharge with the supplied usb cable off my TV's usb port) with a long lasting battery and it is actually comfortable. For long gaming sessions or watching 3D movies it isn't painful to keep these on. I will have to admit I wish Sony would take note from Samsung and offer cheaper pairs as well. I am happy that in general the prices of 3D glasses has made a drastic decrease in the last couple years. Still at the current price its around $200 Minimum for a family of four to take in the action. I definitely recommend this pair as your main but, for guests/occasional use I wouldn't object to a cheaper pair. All in all we might be stuck with using glasses till displays that don't require them advance and then drop in price. Until then this is your best option around if you have a Sony TV.
