Well-Designed Banana Plugs — Easy to Install, Solid Connection
These Sewell Silverback banana plugs have worked great so far. They were easy to terminate and felt secure once installed, which is exactly what you want when wiring speaker connections. My original order had some missing parts, but the seller quickly resolved the issue—excellent customer service on that front. One tip for anyone installing these: twist your speaker wire and insert it in a “U” or hook shape, wrapping the wire slightly around the set screw. This allows the set screw to clamp down more securely on the wire, reducing the chance of it pulling out and improving electrical contact. It’s a simple step that really enhances the reliability of the connection. Overall, these plugs are well-made, affordable, and easy to work with. I’d happily recommend them to anyone looking for a clean and reliable speaker termination.

Well made, worth the price
I bought these because I was impressed by the quality of HDMI cables I'd bought from this brand. I wasn't disappointed in the quality or the brand. To reiterate what others have said; the build quality, design and packaging are great. I also love the way the positve/negative (black/red) are clearly visible even in the dark confines at the back of a stereo cabinet. The included screw driver is almost a must have since the screws are so tiny and may require enough force that a lesser tool might bend or damage the slot head. I used 14GA pure copper wire and that is definitely the limit for size. I did solder the very tip of the stripped wires which didn't make life any easier. I had to back out and re-tighten in a different order to get some of the screws to sit flush enough for the banana end plug to thread back on. Using the harder copper clad aluminum 14GA wire could be a problem. The bad, mentioned by others, some of the screws were loose in the packaging (not installed in the plug). They are a PITA to get the threads started as they are so small. Most I found laying in the tray but one must have been inside the barrel of the plug. I didn't notice it was missing until I tried to tighten it. Fortunately I was able to find it on my table. Have a clear well lit working area when you go to install these. Sewell would do well to include a couple of extra screws along with the screw driver.

strong, good quality banana style speaker connectors
The product comes in a nice cardboard box; the connectors are set into a clear plastic vacuform insert. It’s a nice presentation and also protects the connectors from shipping and storage damage. The set also includes a small bladed screwdriver. Because I was installing these connectors onto thick Audioquest Indigo 2 speaker cable (four solid copper, approximately 22 gauge, strands per channel), this screwdriver could not provide enough torque to screw down the attachment screws. Perhaps with smaller wire, the screwdriver would work. Unlike other bananas, in order to separate the inner connector from the outer cylinder, it is unscrewed clockwise. And instead of sliding the outer cylinder onto the wire first, it is not screwed on until after the inner connector is attached to the wire end. The two set screws first need to be unscrewed; then the bare ends of the speaker wires are inserted. The set screws are then screwed down flush with the side of the inner connector. It required a lot of force with a large-handle screwdriver with this Audioquest wire. The resulting attachment seems solid and secure. They insert snugly into the amplifier’s 5-way binding posts. These Sewell connectors appear to be strong, well made and a fair value; they should provide solid electrical continuity for many years.

Decent quality for the price. I would recommend.
Good plugs overall. The only trouble I had was unscrewing the cover off the first time. Not knowing that the cover screws off forward toward the plug end, I kept tightening instead of loosening and the harder I twisted, the tighter it got, hahaha. Once I figured out my issue, I had no further problems with them. I slipped the wire inside the hole and lightly tightened the outer screw first to hold the wire in place. Then I tightened the inner screw and came back and retightened the outer screw again. Instead of the little screw driver that came with the package, I had a slightly longer one handy, so the install was faster. These plugs do the job just fine. It's not like I pull the plugs in and out of my speakers or amp that often, so once they are in, I hope there is not to need to think about them anymore. This plug will easily handle 10 gauge wire or (2) 12 gauge wires in each hole. The spring action of the banana plug itself feels decent and tight when plugged in to my speakers and amp. The cover, I believe, is a coated plastic because of the weight. I was a little concerned about the black and red accidentally touching each other, but one of the Q&A's said that Sewell claims it is non-conductive. I did not test their claim. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would use them again if there were a need. I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't think they are absolutely the best available on the market, but they are of good value.

Quality set.
Beautifully machined, quality connectors. There are a million generic copycats but these are the real deal. Absolutely worth the few extra bucks. Double catty-cornered screws hold wires securely. Great sound quality. The set comes with a nifty matching screwdriver.. nice touch. Highly recommend. Note: unscrew them by holding the plug and turn the barrel counter-clockwise.
