Until now I've always purchased thin black powder-coated or chrome-plated frames. I didn't realize these silicone frames existed until very recently, so I thought I'd give them a try. I hesitate to really call them "frames" as they're really more of a silicone mat, but they lightly wrap the front of the plate and completely cover the backside. The silicone is highly flexible and it's very easy to slip your license plate in with bare hands. The tolerances seem good as it holds the license plate very securely without much wiggle room. There's holes for the screw mounts and water drainage at the bottom which all line up and work well. The thin wrap-around design allows all important information on the plates to be legally displayed; my home state of Oregon has the expiration stickers at the bottom of the plate and these frames don't obscure anything, unlike some of the chunky decorative frames. It comes with eight large, coarse-thread, Philips-head stainless steel screws for mounting, but were too large for my application. Oddly the frames are packaged in a re-closeable zip-lock pouch. As expected, these are made in China, but quality seems good and the price is acceptable.
