Our favorite toaster for camping.
Just what you need to make toast while camping! Holds 4 slices of bread, bagels etc. We have tried other types of camping toasters before and have found d this style is the one we like most. Inexpensive, light weight and does not take up any room in our camping gear. We us it on our propane cook stove and over the open fire.

Better than older versions
This stove-top toaster is based on a simple design I have used for decades, however, it is far more resistant to rusting. The stainless steel it is made from will blacken a bit (due to the heat?) but there is no rust to clean off after not using it for a while. It works well on a propane camping stove.

Toaster is a piece of junk. Takes way too long, uses too much fuel, and toasts very uneven. Total waste of money, and NOT RETURNABLE! If I could give it less than one star, I would!

Marginal, only effective under specific criteria.
I had an earlier iteration of the toaster that I used on my boat. It was loaned out and never came home so I decided to buy another. I have read other reviews where people stated that it wouldn't make toast. That wasn't my experience so I decide to find out what was different. What I discovered after experimenting with different mediums for cooking was: 1. Alcohol burner would only toast where the flame touched the bread and simply dried out the balance. 2. Butane stove wouldn't toast, it simply became a bread dehydrator. 3. Pressurized fuel stoves ie. Pump up. Like Coleman, Primus, etc. Using alcohol, naptha, or kerosene, and producing a hot jet effect would all toast quite well. The stove on my boat was a pressure alcohol stove and I didn't consider that as a factor. My mistake.
