ProtectaClear will gas off at about 660 degrees F. You just want to make sure that your range top is real stainless steel and does not have a plastic coating on it. There are some appliances that have a plastic coating to make it look like brushed stainless steel. The ProtectaClear is a solvent based coating that should not be used on soft plastics. This is because there is a TON of extra UV protection in it as well and anti corrosives and anti oxidants.
