Catwoman Vol. 4: The One You Love Paperback – December 22, 2015

The first half of Catwoman Volume Four: The One You Love was unexceptional. The first story, a three-parter, was redeemed only by the Paul Gulacy artwork. The next two-part tale was ugly - both the wretched art and the brutal dark story. Yuck! A Rick Burchett-illustrated Killer Croc tale was a nice, light palate cleanser.What saved this volume of Catwoman tales was the six-part second half of the book.. Will Pfeifer is a masterful writer who keeps the tale moving, crafts deft characters, avoids the darkness of so much of the Gotham universe, and provides a satisfying finish. I also enjoyed the art of Pete Woods, an illustrator new to me but one I'll seek out in the future.I recommend this collection mainly for the second half.
