MEGASTUN Super Lightning Stun Gun with LED Light

The MEGASTUN “Super Lightning” stun gun & flashlight impressively exudes quality. I greatly appreciate that it has LED power metering. This allows one to know the present strength of charge. Without that, deciding when to charge the battery would be guesswork. Every stun gun on the planet should have power metering. But I couldn’t find another one that does. When the rechargeable battery in the MEGASTUN eventually exhausts its useful life as all batteries do, it is a simple task to unscrew the end cap and replace the old battery with a new rechargeable battery. I looked-up the specified battery required and easily found it on Amazon. It’s wonderful that the battery can be replaced because this is one stun gun you won’t want to throw away. Too much quality went into it. The feel of this stun gun is quite robust. It is crafted from aircraft grade metal. Attention to detail abounds. No exaggeration. The look of it is extraordinary. The placement of all LED indicators is perfect and the location of the three buttons allows me to use it intuitively and easily. However, the printed instructions were difficult for me to read without a magnifying glass (which I couldn’t find). So I telephoned them with a couple questions. Very helpful. I was told to unscrew the end cap and remove a thin circle of clear plastic that is immediately observable upon removing the cap. I suppose it is there to separate the battery from the end cap during storage and shipping. I gave mine a complete charge before using it as I do with all things I buy that are rechargeable. But you decide that for yourself. I don’t work for MEGASTUN and can’t speak for them. I am merely an enthusiastic buyer. I wanted a great stun gun and I am a collector of high-end flashlights. So I am delighted.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Wanted to feel very safe while traveling. Heading out on a trip the next week after getting stun gun. Followed instructions to the “T” for setting up stun gun - charging battery for flashlight and stun apparatus. Stated 1-1/2 hours. So, after 3 hours it wasn’t working. Re-read instructions. Plugged it back in, light showed charging system working. Checked it the next day. Not working. Sent it back to Amazon. Had a second stun apparatus that is held in the hand. That was working so I took that on my trip. Wanted the other though because the flashlight was so bright it would blind the person thereby giving me a chance to use the stun apparatus.

My dog and I have been attacked more than once while out in the neighborhood. Twice I have diffused the situation by discharging the stun cane I carry into the air. It gets the dogs attention and both times the dog has backed off. I wanted something smaller to carry on hikes so I picked up the Megastun flashlight. Yes, it costs 3-4 times as much as other products on Amazon, but that's what I want. I'm not trusting my dog's life to a $25 product. Volts are for suckers. What matters is build quality and I'm willing to pay for that. It has a battery meter which is awesome. It's solidly built and has a nasty sound when discharged into the air which might actually be the most important feature when it comes to dogs. I had a few questions and the owner returned my call right away and walked me through everything. It's hard to know who to trust but I'll go with the company that doesn't sell false claims about volts and doubles down on quality.

Worked for the first 5 months. It is holding a charge, but the light nor the stun feature work any longer. I think for the price, it should at least last a year. Edit* Started working again after some time, brought the score up to 4 stars total. I dropped one star off because I could never get ahold of the company to address the problem. No customer service.

Purchased this to take along while walking my fur baby just in case. Omega is known for their stopping power as I have the Star Warrior as well. The flashlight was great at first but over time I noticed things starting to break. One of the charging LED lens has fallen off, the plug to protect the charging port has ripped off, and finally the charge port has fallen inside of the light where I can no longer charge the flashlight. No idea how to get a hold of customer service as it doesn’t seem to exist. Don’t think I would repurchase due to build quality.

I bought this for my daughter who is a trucker. She's able to carry it like a flashlight but when you push the stun button it is very bright and very loud. I would expect this to scare some people away. The casing is very sturdy and the end is thick so you can use it as a baton as well. I'm impressed with the workmanship. I'm buying one for myself and my sister as well.

Unit looked promising but it didn't work out of the box. I took the battery out to remove the plastic insert but the batter didn't have any charge at all. I plugged in the charger for an hour and still wouldn't take even a slight charge. The flashlight function only worked when plugged into the charge cord but not the stun function. I also looked at other reviews and also found this same unit being sold under a different brand for half of the price paid. This thing is going back. Do not trust this seller!
