Never Touch a Porcupine!

This book took awhile for my son to be interested in but now at 5 months he LOVES it. He likes to slap all the textured pages and finds the porcupine spikes are fun to put on his feet.

Our son (17m) LOVES these sensory books! They’re so adorable and he picks them to read every night.

This is easily one of my kids favorite books. The texture is so fun to play with, and there are lots of bright colors to look at. Great for all ages!

She loves touch books It’s really cute simple book

I bought 2 books in this series for my twin grandson’s first birthday. They love to feel the texture and look at the bright colors in the books. Durable board book.

Great for a one year old who likes to touch things

There is a whole series of these “Never Touch A” books, and my toddler adores them! These books are suitable for babies 0+ but your small toddlers are going to go whacky over these. I don’t think I first introduced this book until my son was about 14 months old, now he’s almost 19 months and he brings me one of these books several times a day. We now have Never Touch a Porcupine, Monster, Grumpy Bat, Panda, Dinosaur, and Dragon, because I was tired of reading the same book all day long. Each page has a rubberized textured part of the animal for the child to feel and explore. My toddler loves flipping through the pages before I can even finish reading them. When I DO get to read the entire page, my only complaint is that the type font changes too much. It’s big bold colorful stylized fonts mixed with small narrow cursive every few words, which looks very cute and communicates emphasis, but it makes the book a bit difficult to read when holding it at different angles for the toddler to see, especially if you’re reading it upside down. By this point, I have most of the pages memorized anyway, but my other concern is that as my toddler gets older and is learning to read, he’ll unfortunately have difficulty learning to read along to his favorite Never Touch A books, because quite a lot of the words are in cursive, and it’s the same for every book in this series. I think the books could achieve the same visual effect with a block type font that would be easier for everyone to read. Other than that, I still will continue to buy these types of books. The board books are pretty durable and hold up to lots of abuse. Porcupine is the one we’ve had the longest and is in the worst shape by far. I’ve just reinforced the spine and some of the pages with packing tape and it is still perfectly usable. I bought another copy as a gift for a friend’s baby shower and she loved it.

I got a few of these touch and feel books for my ten month old for Christmas. He loves them and has so much fun feeling the pages. Just be aware that only four of the pages have writing on them. I thought they would have a little more to them, but this is fine.

This book is so great texture wise and so fun for the kids to touch and read at the same time.

I love this line of book-story it was recommended by my baby’s occupational therapist to explore touching although the book material is very easy to rib.

Good for kids who like to touch and feel

Cute book, my baby (6m old) really likes it, touches it unlike other books with textures... I also liked the silly and funny text inside the book that rhymes! It's worth the money, good to have as touch&feel book option for your baby, since it's different from fluffy books.
