I'm 70, recovering from a dozen years of major health problems and accompanying weight gain. I wanted a piece of exercise equipment that is not too costly, is easy on the joints, and is quiet enough to watch shows or movies while using it. This is perfect. We moved a chair and set up the Gazelle Freestyle in front of the TV. Instead of sitting through an entire movie or show in the evening and sometimes snacking, I get on the Gazelle. It's paying off. The Gazelle Freestyle is sturdy, well-made, quiet, and it doesn't need a huge space. It weighs 46 lbs. It folds easily and has wheels on the back to aid in moving it. It has a battery (included) powered display for time, distance, etc., as noted in description. On unboxing, the included water bottle was crushed between two of the metal frame parts. The machine itself was packed well though the box was flimsy and beginning to come apart. Thankfully all the hardware was there and the glider arrived unscathed. The Gazelle exercises both upper and lower body. Watch the DVDs included for ideas on how to get the most out of your machine. The videos are also available on YouTube. Once over initial fear of losing my balance, I now push it to the max to get my heart rate up and sweat. I'm stronger and have dropped a few pounds after a few weeks of use. My husband started using it too. It has helped improve his strength and balance as well. You can definitely get a good cardio workout on the Gazelle. Assembly: Initially I laid the parts out with the footpads upside down to the illustration. The printed directions aren't clear enough for me. I found the Gazelle assembly video on YouTube, pausing it at each step for this model and carefully watching how it went together. Once the cables and footpad sections were laid out correctly, my husband helped push the two sides of the frame together. It would probably be simple for most people to assemble. If it's placed on carpet, put a mat under the feet to prevent wear. In a nutshell, this is a reasonably priced, sturdy, quiet, low-impact exercise machine that can give you a good cardio workout and some gentle strengthening.

Family Gazelle Exercise WhatsApp Group
My sister & I both got Gazelle Edges, & we love them! I noticed that the upgraded model, Gazelle Freestyle, was on sale so I sent her the link. (The Freestyle holds 300lbs & has 2 additional features: the pulse meter & cup holder. The Edge holds 250lbs & has no pulse meter nor cup holder.) She decided to buy the Freestyle for her daughter's birthday gift. So I also gave it as a gift to my daughter & son-in-law for their birthdays. Then we convinced my dad to buy a Gazelle Freestyle too. But my sister & I are 100% satisfied with our Edges. We've formed an exercise motivation/accountability group on WhatsApp. My daughter is making T-shirts for our 'Team Gazelle,' plus she made a calendar graphic to keep track of our daily workouts. Anyone who does at least 5 minutes on the Gazelle gets a colored dot on the calendar date for that day, but we usually go much longer than 5 minutes. It's very motivating! We can also get a dot for doing other kinds of exercise that day. This is the motivation we've all needed to stick to our daily exercise routine! We encourage each other & it's fun. The Gazelle is not hard to assemble if you follow the directions to the letter going step-by-step. If you don't, you might have to take it apart & redo it. My dad's Gazelle didn't come with instructions, so he found a video about how to assemble it on YouTube. If you have limited space, you can quickly fold Gazelle flat & stash it behind your desk, under your bed, behind a door, or in the closet. If you have bad knees or a bad hip, this is the perfect piece of no-impact exercise equipment to give you a good workout. But start with only 5 minutes a day & then gradually increase it. I've lost pounds & inches from Gazelle without overdoing it. It feels deceptively easy, but it really does a lot for your body & is very effective. I used to be a personal trainer, so I appreciate that the Gazelle works for all ages & fitness levels, & can be as easy or challenging as you want it to be. The DVD's are great! I think it's excellent for seniors who have bad hips or knees. My dad had double knee surgery 2 years ago & he is able to Gazelle daily.

Fun work out
Ok - I put this thing together without much of a hiccup so that's great. The price point was fair. The workout is a little too easy I think but it is fun to glide - lol! One really should be on this thing for a minimum of 30 minutes to get your heart rate up and to get a work out. The reason I purchased the Gazelle was because I have some lower back issues and hip pain. My knees also have a tendency to hurt now and again. While using this machine, I do not have any jarring of my back or knees and my hips do not hurt since I am not bending my knees towards my chest (like on a stationary bike) or squatting repeatedly. I do need to mention that I have used it a few times and although it was quiet to begin with, it now has a squeaking sound. It is fairly sturdy but I wouldn't chance it and have someone use it that's over the weight limit. It is light weight so easy to move around if needed. The pedals that you put your feet on are a bit rough for bare feet and I don't like having to put on tennis shoes to work out so I just wear comfortable flip flops. It works out great since I don't have to pick up my feet to use the Gazelle.

I was a little concerned by the reviews that said it wasn’t as good as the Gazelle from 20+ years ago. As soon as I got on it felt exactly like the one my mother had in the 90’s, so that’s not an issue. It’s the perfect machine for me: You can work out at a pace that suits you, whether you want an easy workout or a high heart rate workout. Water bottle holder holds my cellphone and tv remote as well as my water. What’s not to love!

This product was delivered within 10 days of ordering and I live in Ontario, Canada. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy. Mine does not make any noise as of yet and I have had it for two months. I am not use to much exercise and when I go a mile and a half to two miles I do work up a sweat. One mile on the glider takes me about 30 minutes. I like the holder on the side of this unit as it has a place for the water bottle and another narrow section which holds the TV remote at the same time. It is a little hard to fold up and move but is doable. I am satisfied with this purchase.

Great price! Although the pulse computer does not work, i decided to keep the Gazelle anyway. Took forever to put it together. It’s a good tool for losing wait!
