Tip for sticking them to Flowtrons so they won't fall off
I live in the northern midwest and have been using these cartridges for nearly 10 years now, with multiple BK-80D large size Flowtrons. That size of Flowtron takes 2 of these cartridges on the bottom. The cartridges work very well and seem to last very long, definitely longer than 1 month I would say. However, 2 major things. One is, the cartridges have gotten so much more expensive over the years, I can hardly believe it! From a couple dollars each to about $10-12 each. I know inflation is bad these days, but that bad? To the point where I now try to make one set of cartridges last the whole mosquito season, which is probably stretching it. Two is, you need to stick these cartridges to the bottom of the Flowtron a very specific way, otherwise they will fall off too soon. If you look at the bottom of the Flowtron where these go, the flaps of the slot don't make a flat surface because the light bulb pushes against the two flaps from the other side and causes the flaps to bulge out a bit. Thus, if you try to stick the cartridge centered on this convex section, it'll never stick for long. Instead, I cut the adhesive strip in half, stick both on 1 side of the cartridge, and then press that side of the cartridge very well to just 1 flap of the slot. So basically only half of the cartridge is stuck very well to 1 flap on the bottom of the Flowtron, while the other half of the cartridge is just hanging there not touching the other flap at all. But it is better to have half the cartridge stuck well, than all of the cartridge stuck poorly. Since I started doing this, I have not had any cartridges falling off before it was time to change them out.

It really does attract (nighttime) mosquitos to the Flowtron. (Tiger mosquitoes in the daytime: not so much.)
I was skeptical this would work to attract mosquitoes to the Flowtron bug zapper. After all, mosquitoes are primarily attracted to heat, CO2, and moisture - in other words bodies and their breathing. They care not one whit about lights, so I wasn't sure the Flowtron Octenol would do anything to pull mosquitoes in. But the Octenol does work. It has to - there is nothing else about the Flowtron that would be of any interest to a mosquito. Yet, once a week when I use a small twig to clean off the electrified rails of bug parts, there is no shortage of clearly identifiable mosquitoes fried & stuck to the rails. The makers of Octenol claim that it mimics other scents in human breath that mosquitoes like; the proof of the pudding is stuck in my trap every week, so they made an empirical believer out of me. Alas it only attracts the night-flying black mosquitoes where we live. I'm grateful for that, which is why I gave it 5 stars. And as final proof we can go out in our yard and on our deck and not be bothered by mosquitoes at night. The daytime is another story however. We also have the day-flying Tiger mosquitoes around here, and clearly the Octenol is doing nothing for them as they bother us during the day. But the Octenol doesn't claim to attract Tiger mosquitoes which is why I'm not taking off any stars. Lurex is advertized to work on the Tiger mosquitoes; alas Flowtron doesn't sell the Lurex bait in a form factor compatible with their trap. Nevertheless, I'll take mosquito-free evenings, and be grateful for that. FYI I change out the Octenol cartridges once a month; that seems to work fine. They have a double-sided piece of sticky tape in each individually wrapped package, which you can use to mount the bait underneath the Flowtron trap.

Bye Bye to those Pesky Mosquitos with these replaceable attractant cartridges
There was a time one Summer ago, my backyard was infested with so many Mosquitos. They were swarming around due to the damp spots on some places where it loves to live and hide. It made it really difficult for me to enjoy the outdoors because of this. I always get bitten by many of them. I started buying one of the Flowtron Mosquito lamps for outdoors and place in under my awning and turn it on during the night time. I hear zaps constantly, letting me know that this is working, and it sure did. However, there was a point in time, where it had had less zaps than before, and I knew I had to buy replacement cartridges. It is where the Flowtron MA-1000 Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridges had made it possible to replenish the attraction of the mosquito to the lamp and before you know it, zap them. These cartridges saved me from getting bitten many times. There are times that I do inevitably still get bitten by them, but nowhere near as much as I had when the Flowtron wasn't around. These are direct replacements of the Mosquito lamp and they work a good amount of time. Lifespan of it varies depending on environment and the placement of the lamp. To hear the satisfying zap one by one just makes me feel at ease that these mosquitos will not stand a chance. Cleaning the Flowtron, is another story. Just because you zap them, their "leftovers" are plastered and stuck onto the lamp, and you have to occasionally you have to clean them or else the attractant will not reach far enough to attract the mosquitoes and the zap wouldn't be efficient.

It does kill mosquitoes.
It works, but would like more in one package.

Good for about 14 days
They OK. When I attached one of these to my zapper with a plastic tie, it seem to work very well the 1st night. No good during the day. After 1st night, the mosquito suicide seem to die down. Each day after that, seems to get less mosquitoes. Great for June bugs. After 14 days of this, I attached another cartridge leaving the 1st one attached. Wow, The mosquito suicide started up again, after dusk. Again, after about the 3rd night. Less suicides. That's all I can say about these cartridges. In about 14 days, I will replace a 3rd one in place with the 1st one. I will continue to rotate the cartridges in this order. This way seems to work better. The price with Amazon seem to be cheaper then the store. Because they do seem to work somewhat vs nothing at all, I will continue to use them. Without the cartridge, my zapper makes a good yard light. I hope this helps. These cartridges will work with any zapper, but get the plastic ties to attach them. The sticky stick on's are junk
