If you seek a military-style jacket that can protect you against the harshest of winter conditions, look no further than the N-2B flight jacket. This short-waisted parka is meant to withstand sub-freezing weather, with its 100 percent water repellent nylon shell and polyester interlining. Unique 'pass through' front pocket was created for pilots to have the ability to reach into their pants pockets without subjecting their hands to sub-freezing temps. For extra protection, the hood is lined and trimmed with synthetic mouton fur. This dry clean only N-2B parka features a zip-down hood, and knit cuffs/waistband. This men's jacket is a standard fit so we recommend selecting your typical size. Alpha Industries is a 55-year-old heritage military company that originally supplied the United States Armed Forces with durable outerwear. Now you can own an authentic parka made to the same high quality standards demanded by the US military. Each parka is uniquely designed and inspired by an iconic jacket in Alpha Industries history. Just like my AF issue
This is exactly like the one that was issued to me in the Air Force 40 years ago other than that one was green and this jacket I ordered in navy blue were because I couldn’t pass up the deal. The quality of this short parka is top notch, and it is the warmest outerwear that I own. My son still wears my AF issue, so that speaks to the quality of Alpha Industries’s products. I was outside this morning in this parka for several hours windchill in the teens and was comfortably warm - no need to layer - just a wool scarf ever a long sleeve shirt. I read some reviews that said the jacket is made overseas however mine was made in the USA as you can see from the tag. Tough metal zipper, plus button flap closure. Like others have noted it runs a little small. I am 6’0” 225 and normally wear XL, but ordered XXL. Probably could’ve got by with an XL, but I’m saying order up one size. (I do not believe it’s a full-size difference probably a half-size.) If you’re looking for a serious piece of cold weather gear you can’t go wrong with this parka.

Excellent jacket
Showed that it would be delivered on 23 December, arrived 12/20/21. I'm 6'3, 220 pounds. I ordered a 2XL because I like to wear a hoodie under most of my jackets and like a slightly loose fit. In Southern AZ we aren't rockin' super low overnight temps but we hit 35 degrees in the morning and this jacket all by itself is more than enough. The stitching is excellent, the jacket material is also excellent. The zippers are plastic but heavy duty enough. The pen pocket on the left sleeve has two pen caps already in place to prevent pens or mechanical pencils from poking through the jacket material. The front pockets for your hands are pass through to reach pockets on a flight suit but also have a pockets in front of the pass-through pockets to put keys or phone, etc. The wrist and waist cuff material is pretty nice as well with excellent elasticity. The hood is line with artificial fur and faux fur coyote brim. It's warm. The hood unzips and can be buttoned back to prevent the hood from sliding forward on the shoulders. I can't wait for the Sage Green ones to come back in stock in my size.

Not your average coat.
I'm 6'0" 175 lbs with a 44 chest and 34 waist. About 31-32" arm length. I ordered an X-large because concern that the waist and sleeves would be a bit short. As it is the waist is slightly loose. The sleeves are perfect length. The waist seems a tad short compared to most of what I wear, but this is the man's equivalent of a cropped jacket. It goes to the belt.Other reviewers have misunderstood the pockets. I have no problem with where they sit height wise. These pockets are between the insulated layer and the outer shell. You can pass your hands under the pocket through the external opening to put your hands inside the insulated layer. Apparently this was designed so Air-Force pilots could get at their pants pockets through the coat. For actually warming hands this is nice because your belly makes more heat than the pocket. Down side of this design is that strong winds might blow past pocket into coat. So far I have not had a chance to use it in sub freezing temps. but have found it warm and wind resistant. I got this one because I thought the N-3B might be overkill for PA. Not oppressively hot indoors in cool rooms for short duration. Quite light weight for its volume. The hood. Very deep compared to most coats. The fake fur is not all that soft but is warm. With the hood unzipped it is like a cape and adds warmth to the body. In windy conditions it is worth snapping the hood ends to the back underside of the collar so the hood flaps don't reach over your head. If you zip up a couple of extra inches the cape/unzipped hood functions like a scarf. If the hood is zipped into hood mode it is cumbersome in a car. I guess that's why it can unzip.Overall: Very pleased!

Not a bomber
A real winter coat for extreme cold weather especially in the Midwest of Ohio. I own few of these coats. But this waist size coat is more modern and hip and will before around and have been here for generations.

Timeless design, ultra classic, yet evidently very on point with the younger generation
I have owned Alpha Industry jackets at many times in my 50+ years. When I took delivery of my new jacket last year, I was surprised to hear our teen wanted one just like it. Well as it started to get cold this season, we gambled that an XS would fit her small frame, and it did. She loves it, the morning after it arrived it was 35 degrees and for the first time in recent memory she actually walked out the door to school with a jacket on. This morning it was 55 degrees and she still has the jacket on!

Good quality but the jacket runs on the extreme small side
This Men's N-2B Bomber Jacket definitely runs on the extreme small size. I donated this jacket and ordered another one and even going up to a 4XL it doesn't fit, I could only wear a T-Shirt underneath.Good quality but the jacket runs on the extreme small side.
