Toyota Genuine Snap Ring for Rear Axle Shaft

This snap ring has held my axle in so far, without shooting out on the highway and taking out crowds of innocent boxwoods like that competitor's product. But you never know. Do yourself a favor and buy a backing plate and dorman axle shaft before doing your axles/bearings. Or schedule enough time to slip in an order once you are able to remove and inspect them. The shafts are often mushroomed by boneheads using the "hold the backing plate and smash the splines on the floor" technique, and the backing plates get warped by techs whaling on them during brake jobs. Check your backing plate for trueness by attaching a piece of wire to the lugs of the axle and rotating the axle, bend the wire so it just drags on the friction points of the brake shoes. Warping on the facial plane of the backing plate creates phantom brake drag and wasted mpg, as well as indigestion and bloating.

the jackass that installed my rear axle felt that 3/4 of a snap ring was fine. it did actually work but i put in a real snap ring because i found it so easily here on amazon.

'92 Toyota 4x4 v6. Worked perfect, and you should replace these when replacing the wheel bearings & seals.

I really liked it that all the parts where correct and where all recieved by the seventh ,all but one it was seven days late so I just could not give the fifth star maybe next time they get all 5.
