Perfect for my feral cats
I have a feral mommy and her last remaining kitten in my backyard. I started feeding them a couple of months ago and of course, they are not leaving now. I live in Indiana and the weather has started to get quite chilly. Typically the cats take shelter under my patio, which is huge, however, I wanted to give them the option of a cozy sleeping space and keep them out of the element as much as possible. Putting the house together was easy once I figured out which way to snap in the roof piece to the center piece of plastic. After that, it was just a matter of aligning and snapping the pieces together. Next, it was time to screw the pieces together. I like the fact that it is raised. The house appears sturdy enough, I haven't put the two stakes down just yet because I wanted to ensure the placement of the house. Now that I have the house in its proper place I can stake it to the ground, even though I am pretty sure it's not going to go anywhere. I lined the bottom of the house with a nice amount of straw. On top of that, I laid down two thick throws and then on top of that a self-heating thermal cat bed. In order to entice the cats to the house I sprinkled a small amount of catnip. The cats being curious sniffed around and investigated before deciding to enter the house. It took the kitten who is about 7-8 months old now, about an hour before she decided it was safe to go inside. Mom followed shortly thereafter. Day 2: When I looked out around 8 this morning, mom was in the house snuggled up. I fed the cats, and they played around in the back. It's 10:30 a.m. now and they are back inside the house snuggled up together. Buying this house was money well spent. I cannot bring them inside and I don't want to call animal control because I know what they do to cats they are unable to adopt out, so I am doing what my heart feels is right. I am so happy that I decided to allow them the chance to get cozy before it gets much colder. I have purchased a door flap, to keep extra wind and chill out as much as possible. Up next, I will purchase a proper water and food bowl. I recommend this dog house! Update: 10/20 - The only downfall with this particular dog house is that there is no overhang to cover the door opening. When it rains the bedding on the front gets damp, not terribly damp but enough that the cats don't want to sit inside. With that being said, it holds up pretty darn good without letting excess water in anywhere else in the house. The cats still use it, which is exactly what I wanted it for. I added a door flap and was happy that it screwed into the house easily. This was done to keep excess wind off of the little furbabies. I have now created another space for my feral cats to use during the cold season and it just warms my heart to be able to do something for them. Happy cat mommy

Great size, neighborhood kitty approved
I got this as a better price & size alternative for cat outdoor shelters I was seeing. We have about 10 strays that are a family and stay around our house. The material is easy to rinse off and has held up against some big rain so far. Wanting to get the door flap attachment but so far has been great for multiple cats to be in at once. I will repurchase a second closer to winter when more of them are sticking around. The size can fit 2 adult cats comfortably, three to four if they cuddle up. A momma and her 5 babies slept inside for several nights. I would recommend for sure. Assembly was a little difficult as I was putting it together by myself with no assistance. But once I had figured out the base I got it done within an hour. It is a plastic so just be mindful about warping if you order in the super heat summer and leave it in the box a few days, mine had just a touch of warp in one of the walls but easily fixed and hasn’t caused any issues since. This is also a good weight, not flying off in the wind, though I do recommend adding maybe a weighted blanket or something for animal comfort but also just to be safest.

The Roof Peak - DOING IT ALONE!
As is mentioned in another review, it’s best if you have 2 people putting it together. I did not have anyone, sooooo…. The hardest part is getting the roof locked into the peak piece. I tore strips from my duck tape and taped the roof section to the peak piece. That kept the roof together sos I could do the sides. Give doing the tape and it’ll make you less frustrated if you are doing it alone. It’s a very nice house and spacious. Now, if I could just get my pup unafraid to go in, it’d all be good!!!! 🤣😂

Practical Design
Serves its purpose. It has a practical design. However, the measurements need to be recalculated. The front and back walls are off by at least 1/4", therefore, I forced the corners into place but had to cut off some tabs that should have fit into the base (floor). Everything else came together okay. I insulated the walls, floor, and ceiling. This is the third of this design I have assembled.

So overall Ive had a good experience with it, here are the Pros: Easy assembly, sturdy against heavy dogs, lightweight, weatherproof, wind sturdy, and visually appealing. Great product IMO. HOWEVER! My dog REFUSES to enter it and has a vendetta against it. He is terrified of it and will not even retrieve marrow filled beef bones if they are place inside. We now use it to keep him away from a corner of the yard we don’t want him near. TL;DR: Good product if your dog isn’t claustrophobic 👍
