My old cat is having problems distinguishing between his litter tray and various bits of household furniture. Trying to track down his latest indiscretion by smell alone is tricky. Hence the UV torch. This model is bright and very effective at revealing stuff that shouldn't be there. The Wood's glass filter also helps greatly with contrast. This is a good, if not cheap, UV torch that has a long battery life and is rugged.

A very good and powerful UV 365nm source. Quite effective on minerals, hidden prints, curing photosensitive resins and revealing the problems with the cleanliness in different places.

Many of the supposed UV torches are in reality 395nm which although technically is UV it is closer to the visible light spectrum and often insufficient to fluoresce some minerals or properly detect stains. This is a 365nm light that additionally uses a woods filter to reduce visible light from being emitted. This is a powerful torch with a significant 'throw' and a narrow beam. Build quality is first class and supplied Li-on cell should last for several hours. It does drop the light output after a period of time to prevent the LED's from overheating which is common on many of the more powerful torches. Eye protection is supplied although it is basic and there are warnings not to shine the light directly into the eyes

[Original Out Of Box Review - See Below for Usage Updates] This item arrived packed in a neat brown cardboard box, containing the UV torch itself, wrapped in sellophane and with a wrist lanyard already attached, a pair of UV-absorbing safety glasses, a big fat Lithium 3.7v battery and a short USB-C cable for charging. It all looks and feels great, so why only three stars (so far)? In short, there was NO documentation apart from one tiny piece of paper warning you to remove the film from the battery, and charge it up before use. A third warning told you to recharge if ever the emitted light becomes dim, to avoid damaging the battery. So is there NO undercharge protection on this device? But the BIG problem, was that NOWHERE did it state, which way to insert the battery! Both orientations would have made contact - was there any reverse polarity protection? Not stated, there is no documentation. Is this item rainproof? Not stated, there is no documentation. The item SEEMS well made, and is currently charging after an extensive web search found the words, "insert positive side first". I will come back and complete this review later, after I've had a chance to play with the soon to be fully charged torch. [USAGE UPDATES - One More Star] I stand my original "out of box" review (above) - there is no excuse for selling an item with a massive, potetially explosive, Li-ion battery with NO information about which way to insert it into a device that will physically take it either way. However, for balance ... Notwithstanding the documentation, this UV 365nm flashlight is beautifully made. A very bright LED in the side-mounted rubber switch leaves you in no doubt as to whether the device is currently switched on, or off - which given that its light is effectively totally invisible (black!!) to the human eye, is rather useful. The same LED lights up a very bright RED when the device is charging, turning to GREEN when fully charged. When running, the switch glows the same GREEN colour. It would be a great thing, if this turned to RED when it was time to recharge - or maybe it does?! No way to know, given the lack of documentation (see above), and the risk that running it too low will basically destroy your battery. The UV beam, totally invisible until it hits amost anything, revealing stunning flourescence, is VERY bright, and surprisingly tightly focused: this is a UV Spotlight, not a flood - SO different from my others, and therefore rather wonderful. You can illuminate flourescent targets from a considerable distance. Could REALLY cause "fun" at the spooky dance in a theatre show!!! So bottom line - actually love this flashlight. Still only 4 stars, because with UV and Li-Ion, both dangerous technologies, I really NEED a full set of specs and detailed user guide.

We watched a video of an American chap testing out an array of these, and this one came up the best and is the best value for the money, we agree.

My friend has one the same and it's absolutely brilliant no issues, but mine has had battery problems on and off since I got it, and now simply will not charge at all or work when the battery is in. I wish I realised sooner that the battery problems weren't normal or my fault because now it's too late to return but clearly something is faulty here. Works great when it works though...

Ho esaminato moltissime alternative e ho speso molto tempo su Youtube per vedere davvero come si comportano le torce UV che ho selezionato. In ultimo ho scelto questa anche se sapevo che la prova del nove la si ha soltanto quando la si può maneggiare dal vero. La potenza è davvero sorprendente e la qualità di costruzione è molto buona e rifinita con cura. Arriva con la batteria parzialmente carica ed è consigliabile metterla subito sotto carica. Il tempo di ricarica, seppure già in parte carica, è piuttosto lungo ed è meglio utilizzare un caricabatterie (non fornito) di alta capacità. PRIMA DI ACCENDERLA INDOSSARE GLI OCCHIALI DI PROTEZIONE e non guardare mai direttamente dento la torcia: non si vedrebbe nulla perchè è munita di un filtro nero ma in compenso ci si rovinerebbe la vista.

Ich will hier keine Romane schreiben, aber die Lampe ist sehr leuchtstark und hat einen Filter, der nur das UV-Licht durchlässt. Im eingeschalteten Zustand kann man nur ein wenig blaues Licht sehen, was am Rand des Filters vorbeispiegelt. Dadurch ist der Lichtstrahl nicht zu sehen und im Dunkeln sieht man NUR die Stoffe zurückleuchten, die auf UV reagieren zum Beispiel manche Staubpartikel und Urin. Nach Inspektion unserer Toilette mit UV fing ich sofort freiwillig an zu putzen... ;-) Andere UV-Lampen machen die Suche nach Verunreinigungen nicht so leicht, weil sie mit ihrem Mischlicht die Szene überstrahlen und man kaum was erkennen kann. Ich habe diese Lampe direkt mit meiner alten UV-Lampe ohne Filter verglichen: ein riesen Unterschied. Zm Härten von UV-Kleber ist die Lampe super weil sie sehr leuchtstark ist. Da muss man nicht lange belichten um den Kleber auszuhärten. Der Akku ist eine Li-ION 21700 der sehr große Bruder der 18650 dei sonst immer verwendet werden. Eine gute Wahl für Taschenlampen weil einfach mehr Energie reinpasst und die Zellen preisgünstig sind. Jemand hatte bei den Rezensiopnen geschrieben, dass die Ladefunktion kaputt war. Meine Empfehlung: Die Lampe wird mit einer halbleeren Zelle geliefert, da Li-ION Zellen schneller altern wenn sie voll geladen gelagert werden. Einfach mal aufladen die Lampe dann sieht man ja ob es funktioniert. Bin sehr zufrieden - die Lampe ist den Preis wert auch wenn sie etwas teurer ist. (Wer billich kauft, kauft 2 mal)
