No burps, less pain; great purchase.
Without posting my long, arduous history regarding cheap fish oils from major retailers, I'll get straight to the point: I am a young man, who has a chronically dislocated shoulder, muscle aches, and arthritis in my knees and ankle joints. I also used to experience headaches on a daily basis. For years, I dealt with taking aspirin and other NSAIDs to attempt to alleviate the pain, to no avail. I even tried taking a glucosamine-chondroitin supplement to reduce the pain I was experiencing. Then, I happened on an article posted by Dr. Mercola about the benefits of Krill oil. Intrigued, I tried a few brands (Schiff's MegaRed, Puritan's Pride) and noticed a slight alleviation to my muscle and joint pain, but had horrible shellfish burps with both brands. I dealt with it for several months, but finally decided to start searching for an alternative that didn't have this side-effect and might be more beneficial. I finally checked Amazon for an enteric-coated capsule that would do the trick, and found the NOW Foods 1000mg Krill oil, and went ahead and ordered it. Personally, I found it to be a superior quality product, without any sort of burps or foul taste coming back after my morning snack and coffee. I was so satisfied with the joint pain relief that I experienced from this product, that I went ahead and decided to order the (slightly cheaper) Krill 500mg pills, which have the same 1000mg-per-serving formation, except in two capsules rather than one. However, after ordering, I noticed that the pills weren't coated. I was a little concerned, but decided to wait and see what kind of results I would have; I have learned since that any sort of krill oil that causes burps is likely rancid, which was surprising considering that krill is supposed to contain astaxanthin- a powerful antioxidant. Still concerned about shellfish burps, I went ahead and trusted NOW Foods to deliver me a product that wasn't rancid; having positive results with the coated version. I was not disappointed; there have been NO burps, even when I take these pills with a cup of hot coffee in the morning. I've actually been feeling even better than when I did taking the 1000mg coated version. Honestly, I can't explain why, but I like the difference. My blood tests have began to become even more positive, and my good cholesterol has improved significantly (I worked in a bakery and had a little too much of a sweet tooth) from where it was. I can focus better, my memory has improved, and my joint pain has lessened- my headaches are completely gone. Seeing as these (rather drastic) results coincided with my consumption of Krill (discontinuation through running out causes the joint pain and focus issues to return) compared to fish oil or aspirin, I will continue to take it for as long as possible. I recommend NOW Foods Krill to every person experiencing the same problems I am, and the coated 1000mg version to those who have experienced shellfish/fish burps from other products (many of them are leery of taking ANY sort of fish or krill oil due to such experiences) from "major" brands found at supermarkets and pharmacies. I couldn't be happier with a krill product, and I'll continue to order this one for as long as I take krill. I have also tried other NOW Foods supplements which were also quite effective, so I do not foresee a drop in quality any time soon.

NOW Foods Neptune Krill Is Magical
As a long time user of Neptune krill, under the NOW Foods label, it's time to sing its fabulous praises. This is a remarkable product, period. For anyone undergoing joint pain, arthritis, high cholesterol or even depressive moods among other ailments, this krill oil is like a one-stop shop. Indeed, it's hard to believe at times---and, yes, I was one of those skeptics---but there's a magic to these soft gel pills! It defies a simple logic: How can such an effective product be so unheralded and vastly unknown by the public thus far? My own joint pain inflammation was decreased immensely, my cholesterol count slashed by 31% (that's not a typo and it surprised my doctor after 8 months of daily use), and even my eye sight improved a bit. As one who did fish oils before krill, there's just no comparison, krill wins. Billions of wild, tiny krill inhabit the pristine Norwegian waters of the North Atlantic which eradicates fears of environmental contamination. While it may smell a little fishy in the bottle, there is absolutely NO FISH TASTE nor after-burps when it's consumed. Krill assimilates very smoothly into the system and there are no side issues. In researching so many brands online, Neptune (NKO), a Canadian company, always came out on top for product quality, purity and intensity. In addition, they've apparently patented the process for it. Take with confidence. Be assured, I've recommended it to friends who've returned with rave reviews in halting their own symptoms of discomfort. Of course, I'm no scientist, but what works, WORKS, people! Best of all, NOW Foods has the best pricing per quality of pill for any company. It's a good guess after a few weeks of using krill, you'll be motivated in writing your own great review. And don't forget to thank me.

High quality product
I bought this to add some Omega-3s to my diet. I have been taking this for a week now, so I cannot tell you anything about long-term health benefits yet. It looks like a high quality product, though. Other reviews mention a bad smell or fishy "burp", but I do not experience any of that. Will buy again.

It seems to work, for the most part.
I bought this product to assist my brain function. I believe that it is helping with this. I am pleased that it has also greatly alleviated arthritic pain in my knees and lower back. All of the products I have researched that claim to use Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) have lowered the amounts of EPA, DHA, Phospholipids, etc. So, in order to get the recommended amounts of of these supplements, I take 3 softgels a day rather than two. When I first opened the product, it had a light fish smell. After a few days, the smell was heavy and unpleasant. I called NOW and the rep recommended refrigeration. It didn't help much. It may have, if I had refrigerated it from the start. In spite of the smell, I've had absolutely no "fishy burps" or aftertaste. Two of the three NOW reps with whom I spoke weren't into being helpful and rushed me off the phone. I may go to two softgels before I finish the bottle to see if I maintain the same results from the product. Since the product has been working for me at 3 softgels a day, I will probably order it again. I might recommend this to friends, but with disclaimers.

Way better option and identical amazing health benefits to eating sardines! Whew!
2 of these tiny capsules per day = huge health benefits of one can of sardines per day (blecch!). Skip the sardines! ✅ Google “Krill Oil” (=very amazing stuff, the actual Krill!) and “health benefits of sardines” for yourself — I’ll never look back. 👍🏼 Fantastic product. Note there are articles online explaining slightly preferred Krill Oil types for heart health vs. brain health etc., and this brand is highest rated for helping lower “bad” cholesterol and also awesome for helping prevent memory loss / brain cell degradation. Surprised the price is so low! 😊

Great for cat coat
We bought this for a slightly unconventional use; we are using it as a supplement for our cat’s dry coat. We have a rescue Bengal named Beans who struggles with food/environmental allergies that result in him pulling out his fur to stop the itch. Along with allergy meds, we started supplementing one of these capsules with his food every evening about 45 days ago. It has made an enormous improvement in how dry his coat is. Our cat-savvy friends and cat groomer have made comments on how amazing and shiny his coat now looks. Most people use fish oil for cats, but Beans has a fish allergy and we thought krill would be a safer bet. We pop the capsules open and mix their contents with wet food. They do have a rather fish-y smell and can be difficult to cut, so if we could change anything it would be to have them in softgel form so they could be popped. Still, if your cat has dry fur, try this out (after consulting with your vet, or course.)
