They definitely serve the purpose. Especially useful if you have a desk job and the glasses need to remain in place for the full day. Also good for sports. I have oily skin so they do help in glasses not sliding down. Be very careful while putting them on to the glasses as they are tight and there is a risk of the arms of your spectacles breaking. Additionally, stay careful once you take them off your ears once the hooks are in place. You may need to tilt your glasses a bit.
