So I am writing this from the perspective of a man who bought it for a woman and I can only relate what my wife has told me and what I think. I had run into a friend at a restaurant one evening and she was wearing this fragrance and even then I thought it smelled great. It was not over-powering in anyway and provided a subtle yet intriguing fragrance. With my luck, my wife was there and I asked he about it and she thought it smelled good too. Well that was enough incentive for me to purchase some for her for Valentine's day. Since that time, she has worn it to several occasions and has gotten comments from others about how nice it smelled. She has expressed to me how much she enjoys it and I can only say I know I enjoy it also. It may not be the fragrance for everyone, it is, from my point of view, very soft yet pervasive. It is not a spicy smell, but more of a soft flowery smell and as I have said I like it. Kind of hard to review a perfume I think, but there you go. I hope this helps anyone considering making a purchase. I intend to buy her more once this starts to run out and perhaps that is the best recommendation there is.

I was on the quest to find a new fragrance, and after searching for other similarly floral fragrances, I found that most of todays scents have too much of a youthful, powdery floral note. I purchased the eau du parfum because it has more oil content, and lasts a bit longer than eau du toilette. That said, as noted in other reviews, Dolce and Gabbana, The One does tend to dissipate after a few hours but I don’t mind because I love the scent so much when I’m wearing it. This fragrance is just elegant and lightly floral.
