Nice toy but very unstable.
The drone is small but the right size to play indoor. However, it is very unstable, even calibrating it as recommended in the manual. Further, to turn on and off the battery cable needs to be disconnected, compromising the functionality after some time. UPDATE: I received a replacement drone and now it works perfectly. It hovers stationary and it is controllable, making a very enjoyable experience. Thank you Holy Stone. On the other hand, some improvements, especially in the battery compartment, should be done. The battery connection is still the weakest design point of this drone. Duration is approx 5-7 mins depending on the usage and speed, but enough for this such small machine. Charging time is very fast too (approx 15-20mins for two batteries at same time).

Good drone. But might not last
Drone is great. My son enjoyed alot. The design has a fault in which the motor comes out after some time along with it the wire which cannot be connected once broken

Small but a lot of fun and has loads of great flying features
Flies very well, hovers, has cool tricks that kids love (auto spin, auto land) and has two speeds. Regular speed is great for learning and high speed is great for flying fast around the house. Batteries will die out pretty quickly so the set of three is very useful. We’ve dropped it and bumped it around quite a bit and it holds very well. Highly recommended.

This is the best drone we have ever purchased (and we’ve owned many). My kids are absolutely thrilled with it! It’s very easy to control — even my four-year-old son was able to fly it. This drone has probably survived hundreds of crashes into walls and the floor, yet this little guy still takes off and keeps making my kids happy. The quality is excellent, and I really appreciate that extra batteries are included in the package. I saved it on Amazon because I plan to buy another one if ours ever breaks. I highly recommend this product! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent beginner drone for my 5 year old. It's hardy and easy to use, smaller than anticipated but doesn't feel cheap. Good buy

I wanted to see if my cats and foster kittens might be interested in a flying toy. I wanted something relatively cheap so if it got pounced on I wouldn't upset at the cost. The first one I got was obviously used and broken, Amazon replaced it, and the second was in perfect shape. The good news is there's little risk of it getting pounced on. The cats are interested in this, but only at a distance. When it flies close to them they scramble where I was expecting them to get a case of the wiggle butts. I can see where some people damage these on the first flight. Having experience with RC airplanes and big drones I skipped reading the owners' manual (big mistake). I hit the takeoff button and it zipped up rather quickly, hit a cabinet and then went crazy fighting artificially induced pitch sticking itself to the cabinet door. If you're not ready for it the way it zips up will absolutely startle and hit something if you're not in a clear space. I also accidentally discovered the relative direction mode (in this mode which way the stick makes it go is relative to you, so that if you rotate with the left stick until the drone is facing the opposite way, pushing the right stick to the right will still make the drone go to your right right instead of left). This was a little confusing for me having prior RC experience. Again, reading the manual would have been smart on my part. Lastly is a tip about the reviews talking about it just drifting away outdoors. The controller has an IR panel on the front (facing away from the pilot). For those that don't know, IR is light based. I'm pretty sure this is how the drone knows which way it is facing for relative direction mode, but it's quite likely it's used for other purposes, including actual flight control instead of RF. This means that when it's in direct sunlight, the IR receiver on the drone itself will get "jammed" by the sunlight and will be unable to receive input from the controller. This is definitely an indoor only drone, but at a minimum if you're going to do it outdoors, do it at night and keep it really close to you. Without walls for the IR light to reflect off of, the range will be much lower outdoors, so you risk it flying away at night too. It wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't also list one big con. It comes with blue & black fans, which would be great, however the fans aren't actually color coded. The fans spin in different directions depending on their location on the drone. Normally I would expect them to be color coded along the lines of "black = clockwise blue = counterclockwise", however this isn't the case. If you break a blade, you will need to carefully look at the fan blades to ensure the broken ones you are replacing match the new ones. Putting a clockwise in a counterclockwise or vice versa the drone will not be flyable and possibly fly around erratically hitting people or objects in the room (causing further damage). OTOH if you're feeling like mixing it up you could swap a blue for a black or such for visual effect. Overall it's a good little drone. Read the instructions, know how to handle it before you're first flight, don't run into things and I would imagine this will last quite a while UPDATE: Been flying it around my house for a few weeks now. People who complain about it breaking are misusing it IMO. I've had a couple of small crashes. It seems fairly durable, no damage from falls from five feet up onto carpet, or accidentally tapping it into a wall. To break it, you would need to go full speed into a wall, which would probably break it. Kids being rough treating it like an RC car will break it. Drones aren't RC cars and are more fragile.

6 year old loved it - somewhat easy to to control - best indoor or with no wind (sensitive). Great with different speed settings for beginners.

I've bought several "beginner" drones recently. I think this is the best one to learn on. It is really tiny but that's a good thing when learning and flying around inside which is where you should learn the controls. It is reasonably fast and responsive in the lowest speed setting and is ideal to get comfortable with piloting drones. It doesn't have obstacle detection but the protected blades and the light weight mean it can't do much damage if it hits a wall/painting/etc. I've crashed it a number of time w/o consequence to it or anything else. It's also surprisingly quiet compared to other, larger and heavier "beginner" drones I have which have much bigger propellers. DO READ THE MANUAL THOROUGHLY because 1) some buttons multitask and it's easy to crash by forgetting which buttons do what; 2) it's crucial to learn how to use the trim function - it makes a difference here (and on all other drones) for stable hovering; and 3) some other beginner drones have slightly different start-up and gyro calibration procedures and button functions and it's easy to mix them up. Unlike some folks writing here, I've got 5-6 min+ with all three batteries at the lowest speed so far. Higher speeds may burn through the battery faster. Make a point of charging all of the batteries FULLY BEFORE FIRST USE and not using too powerful a charger. I use an old iphone charger with the provided USB charger adapter. Nitpicks: I agree with other users. The battery connector is finicky - hard to connect and pull out. I just don't jam the connector in hard (on either the drone or the charger adapter) - just push it in gently on a bit of an angle until the connection is made and the lights start flashing. Other models like the similar HS450 (which I also have) have a better, modular battery system. I'd also like a bit longer flight time (ie higher capacity battery than 250mAh) but there's no way I've found so far to "McGyver" a larger battery in w/o significant modifications or unbalancing the machine. There are additional similar batteries (but only 220 mAh) for sale on Amazon but the 3 provided have worked well and as advertised so far (a few weeks). Ultimately, it's really not an expensive unit so I accept the limitation. I will undoubtedly move up the food chain to more sophisticated machines as time goes on but I find this the most fun and entertaining of my current fleet. I expect it will be a favourite to fly for a long time since it's easy to practice on around the house (especially in the winter). If you are new to drones as I am (or are buying for someone who is), do yourself a favour and buy a beginner unit like this before you go to Amazon/costco/wherever for the $1000 Mavic set (which I was tempted to do). You can (and will) crash the hell out of this one with relative impunity, and have a hoot in the process.
