I am not using these for birds. Birds deserve freedom. I put bowls with stones and water in them to use as watering stations for bees in my front yard. They are decorative and attractive amongst the flower beds. One is on a shepherds hook, the other hangs from a low tree branch. I wanted something that would deter the birds from getting the bees. Poor things have enough trouble. As hard as the bees work, they need places to get water. We do have a bird bath for them. Yeah, I know. My wife tells me I'm soft-hearted. Get over it. Help our world. It needs it.
