I am not sure what effect this has had on my running performance, however, since several times, I felt like my heart was beating so fast I could barely breathe. With that being said, as many reviewers have commented, it tastes terrible. I only chew this occasionally before big workouts or races, but I'm not sure if I will continue. Also, pricey for what it is. Just chug some coffee.
