Great value
Not the best and may have heating issues but it is the overall best cheap solution for gaming. Mine is still doing great and I play most AAA at at least medium settings.

Mostly good
Mostly good. I've had this laptop since May 2021. When I first got it out of the box, I called Dell, and a tech there set the whole thing up remotely for me. I took him about an hour, but it might have taken me forever by myself. It's all good, except -- (and none of these are deal breakers in my opinion): 1) The laptop tends to run hot. I have a VR headset and when the laptop is connected to that, either with a cable or wirelessly, the laptop gets really hot, especially the keyboard, and the fans run like crazy. Of course, I'm not using the keyboard when I'm using the VR headset. I called Dell and the lady said it will be OK, and I posted to a VR headset FB page, and the advice there was not to adjust the settings, and that it will be OK -- but it gets really hot -- almost immediately upon cranking up the VR connection. I never use the VR with the laptop for over 1/2 hour at a time because I'm concerned, even though I've been told it will be OK. I'm new to VR and gaming laptops, and maybe computers are with VR just are hot and their fans run like crazy. I'm always very careful to make sure air can get underneath the laptop.2) The charger cord has a HUGE heavy charger box associated with it. I guess that's for surge protection. My main problem with it isn't the size or weight. It is that the cord doesn't stay plugged into the charger box thing. The slightest jiggling seems to dislodge it enough that the little blue light on the cord goes off. The battery life doesn't seem to be anything spectacular, so I don't like it that it can be so easily unintentionally unplugged. I'm thinking about putting something on it to keep it plugged in.3) The housing of the laptop has a bit of a cheap feel. When opening the lid/screen, the hinge creaks a little.I got the Nvidia GForce RTX2060 graphics card and 16GB Ram. I thought that the price was good for the features. So far, despite the comments above, I'm not regretting the purchase.

I used an infrared gun to check temperature-yes it gets hot- but works great and I really like it!
I've seen the complaints of excess heat. Hey-it has a graphics card and an I7, they're going to generate heat. After several hours intense game play I measured the case temperature at the bottom under the screen and found it's about 120 degrees F (49 C) . That's uncomfortable on my lap ( I sure wouldn't want to play while wearing shorts). No problem if it's on a lap desk or any type of board or table. That back edge on the bottom is where all the heat is (and the fans are.) The lap desk is my choice for lounging. When not gaming the computer winds down until the case is cool to the touch. In either mode the fans are quiet. Yes you can hear them in game mode but they're not intrusive.Speed is good for gaming, equal to a nice middle of the road desktop. On most first person type games I get a frame rate of about 60-90 FPS. Two examples: Conan Exiles; 58-60, Far Cry 5; 88-90, Subnautica 90 or so. Games with simpler graphics (Phasmophobia and the like 130FPS).If you like lounging around in an easy chair-or need a laptop so you can move your computer for work or school around this computer works just great.I added an extra 1 TB drive (I've got games that take 100Gb), be sure to buy a M.2 NVMe drive for the second bay. Check the Q&A for specifications. Dell provides installation instructions online.

Fast sleek responsive runs warm no warranty to speak of really via dell....
just got this today so only have updated and installed software but it's very responsive and smooth so far. Going to put BDO and New World (alpha Amazon title) on it via steam to see how it handles gaming on ultra and such. It should outperform my desktop that's 7 years old and can do it, this best be able as well! Have noticed it runs a bit warm already just to let you know, I bought a cooling pad for it but that's coming tomorrow I'll use these small fans I got for receiver in meantime. Will update later of course.UPDATE!!! Loved this thing mostly till today 9-28 only mere few months after purchase the screen magically broke in the extra padded laptop backpack i bought for it and had it in. Called Amazon who said after initial back and forth that i was covered via warranty for this. They connected me with Dell who at first was cordial enough right up til they said they wont cover the damage. aT THAT POINT I WAS LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WONT COVER THIS DAMAGE, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A WARRANTY THEN?!?! THIS IS LITERALLY LIKE THE ONLY THING YOU WOULD NEED IT FOR BESIDES POSSIBLE FAULTY INTERNAL HARDWARE FAILURE THAT ISNT THE MONITOR! I got mad as he was EXTREMELY hard to understand (took offense when I asked to speak to someone who natively speaks english, like a manager or higher! I tried to be nice about it as i could also. He gave me attitude after that and got it back! Its like look man this laptop PC cost more than he likely makes in 3-6 month he can go pound salt or whatever...) and was telling me no we wont fix the 1300 item you just purchased from us recently and appears to have failed from poor hardware design/placement! (the thing cracked like RIGHT from the mic hole down!)I had to reconnect with amazon who had already stated it was covered and told them i need a new screen or ALL my cash back to buy a new travel pc i could game on in chemo... They pow wowed with management and while i didnt get all my purchase price back they gave me enough to get my screen fixed basically anyplace i can take it. I settled for that even if it puts me out of commission way longer than i want to be =/ If they gave me all my cash back i would of just sent this back and bought ANYTHING but another crap no warranty dell product. I WILL NEVER purchase ANYTHING DELL branded EVER AGAIN!!!

This is a good gaming laptop
Pros: the graphics card is decent and can handle all current AAA titles. There is no stream or epic, Xbox, Amazon Luna or stadia game I could throw at this laptop and it couldn’t play in high or ultra. The screen is great looks good and I love watching 1080p video on it.It has an expansion slot for a M.2 drive I added a 2TB to mine.CONS: the battery life is not great. Gaming it’ll last about 3 hours and regular use about 5 hours. The keyboard is backlit but you can’t see the keys without the backlight. You can’t keep the backlight on or choose when it going out on the G3 you can on the G5 but not this one.All in all this is a good laptop, I’m having a ball with it. Emulation is great. There is no emulator it won’t run. For major gamers it might not fit the Bill. However for casual gamers it’ll be great. Anyone who just uses it for work or school and a little gaming it’ll be awesome.
