I’ve been using this product for less than a month along with the fresh pressed powder face wash and it’s amazing. My skin is smooth and the color is finally even for the first time in a long time.

I was given a sample .. I used it and am totally in love with this product, so I ordered it. It works straight away. From the first time you use it .. you can see the difference. I have tried so many different products, but this definitely does what it says. Totally happy. Totally recommend it. Definitely work every penny. Thank you Clinique.

This fresh pressed vitamin C serum is effective for dullness and fine lines, but it is admittedly way too expensive if you use as directed. I will use one canister for 2-3 weeks instead of the 1 week recommended in the instructions. Yes, it is less effective and smells stronger by week 2 or 3, but it still noticeably brightens and evens the skin. I am considering refrigerating it next time to see if that extends its use further. My main reason for using this particular serum is that it is the one ascorbic acid serum I have found that does not break me out or clog my pores. Yes, this serum has a sharp metallic smell which gets stronger the longer it is opened… What you are smelling is oxidized vitamin C, and the smell is totally normal. This one does not smell as bad to me as some other high potency products, but it is noticeable. If you are using actual pure vitamin C (that is: actual ascorbic acid and not some less potent derivative that the skin has to convert to vitamin C) in high concentrations, a odor is pretty much unavoidable. Clinique doesn’t use any masking fragrances, which is a good thing. To slow down the oxidation and reduce odor and orange oxidation on your face, I recommend that when you apply this product you do not do so with other acids, and certainly don’t apply at the same time as acne products like benzoyl peroxide. I also recommend applying an occlusive moisturizer on top of this serum, or a zinc oxide based sunscreen in the daytime. Any pure ascorbic acid product will eventually oxidize to orange on your face, and it will stain if you spill it, so be aware.
