I recently decided to take on a project of restoring an old truck topper for my 2013 Silverado. It was painted a green color and had a lot of pealing from the sun. It obviously needed paint and I wanted something that would complement my black truck. After much research on the internet, I decided to paint the topper and my truck bed with raptor. I bought these items from TCP Global through Amazon: • Custom Coat 3 Ounce (Bright White Color) Urethane Tint Concentrate for Tinting Truck Bed Liner - B00US4LNFY • Custom Coat Professional Quality Bedliner Application Gun with Regulator - Fits 1 Liter U-Pol Raptor Bottles - B074KNQSM6 • U-Pol Raptor Tintable Urethane Spray-On Truck Bed Liner & Texture Coating, 2 Liters - B01CKE7GWI • U-POL Raptor Black Urethane Spray-On Truck Bed Liner & Texture Coating, 4 Liters - B01CKE7A60 To get this dark grey color, I mixed 2 liters of black coating with 1 liter of tintable coating (Bright White) outside of the bottles. I added 24oz of hardener (8oz per liter) and then refilled them. At first, I was planning to roll on the raptor because I had never used a spray gun with air compressor, but I called TCP Global and talked to a customer rep there. After finding out more about my project, he encouraged me to try the spray instead of the roller. I’m so glad he did. In fact, customer service is the reason why I will do business with them again. It is top notch. He knew his stuff and gave me amazon numbers for items I was looking for. I have no covered space to do this project and had to do it in my driveway. Unfortunately, it stormed and rained on my project a couple hours after I sprayed on the first coat, but I scuffed it with a scotch-brite pad and sanding sponge the next day and put on the 2nd coat. Then it rained on my second coat about 10 hours after I sprayed it, but temps here have been in the high 90s all week and I don’t think the water has damaged it as far as I can tell. The surface is textured and hard like plastic. I sprayed the first coat at 60 PSI and opened the tip of the sprayer a bit. It was mostly a good coat, but some areas I did too heavy and It had texture craters like the moon in some spots. The second coat I upped the pressure to 90 PSI and closed the tip down all the way. Much better spray and texture. Next time I plan to do first coat at 60 again, but with tip closed. And then second coat at 90 with tip closed. I’m still working on the rear door (needs fiberglass repair and paint). The only tips I can give are to watch every video on YouTube about using this product. Look at the raptor linings website as well and read the instructions. Prep, prep, and more prep. I sanded both the bed and topper multiple times (80, 120, scotch brite red pad). Use acid etch primer on bare metal spots and consider using adhesive promoter on hard-to-reach spots and any plastic you are painting. Tape off anything you don’t want paint on. I really like the product and the service I received from TCP Global. I want to do my whole truck now but need to save up my pennies for more raptor.

Did a lot of research on coatings and purchased the Raptor bedliner to use on my new RV Propane tank in the hopes it would provide better protection than the standard factory powder coating. Went with the tintable version and added medium light Basalt Grey tint which looks great on the tank! Application instructions (and many videos available) were easy to follow. Sanded the surface of the painted to tank to increase mechanical adhesion, then use Raptor's Acid Etch Primer and Adhesion Promoter sprays. Then I applies the tinted Raptor Liner with a 4" roller and brush. The final product looks awesome and I'm hopeful that it will help protect the RV Propane Tank which is mounted underneath the RV and open to road debris.

This stuff is awesome! Based on some of the reviews, I had expected this to be off-white or eggshell in color, but it is actually clear once it dries, so the first coat went on clear and then I had the extra expense of having to purchase some off-white acrylic automotive paint (minus the binders - so tint only) to color it because I needed it to cover some areas that had been pitted from road rock damage that I had patched. Once it was tinted, it needed 2 additional coats to cover the patched areas, but it works great. I ended up using foam rollers because I really had no good area to spray it, and I am happy enough with the texture - although I did have to redo one approximately 2 x 2 area because one does need to work fast with it once it's mixed and it had started to get thick and gummy in that spot. I just sanded that spot down, applied the adhesion spray (had to order that separately) and then applied just over that area, feathering in the sides. This makes an excellent rock guard coating on the front of my travel trailer without having to drill more holes (as I would have had to do to install diamond plating) and it's easy to touch up if needed later on. For those who want it to look very evenly textured, a spray gun application would be best but if the texture doesn't have to be perfect, a foam roller works too.

Worked great. If using actual car paint to tent it, mix it. Heavier than two ounces. I got it to a bedliner, my amp rack for my car audio setup It worked great.

I've used this several times before and really understand how to apply it. Excellent results with a couple caveats. The only real downside is the set of instructions that come with it. Very fuzzy and not very exacting. Mixing urethane with a hardener and tint requires precision and Upol is anything but precise. Pouring the hardener into the urethane bottle is rather more guesswork as they have you pour up to a line inside the black bottle that you really can't see. There's a ridge on the outside of the bottle the constitutes the pour line but it's tough to see the material as it approaches the ridge.. Then if you buy a tintable base and have to add a tint color you are really guessing unless you measure by weight. If you do this you'll need another container and emptying the base out of the bottle results in some left in the bottle due to the viscosity. Be sure to shake the base and the hardener real well prior to adding tint (if you use a tintable base). The other thing to remember is that shooting one liter will take between 4 and 5 minutes so mix up two liters before shooting. Make REAL sure you flush the gun out with acetone after you empty each bottle or the gun will start to clog.
