These tiles are unlike any you will see in the tile shops. They are handmade and hand painted… and they are far from perfect. Some are not perfectly square, others are a bit bigger or thicker in places, but all this adds to the authenticity and charm of these festive tiles. I had fun installing them as a kitchen backsplash, and they turned a drab basement stairway into something dazzling. Everyone who has seen them in my house has raved about them. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants tiles that are whimsical and unique.

Great tiles. Wife loved them. They are the real deal and quite cost competitive when you price Mexican Talavera tile elsewhere. We got a great assortment. The tiles were packaged/wrapped thoroughly and arrived without a single broken one. I could not be more pleased! One small note: These are the real deal, and thus craft-produced. There IS variation between batches, so while they are beautiful you must remember these are not mass-produced in a big factory. The tiles may have as much as 1/16 in size difference. It is quite minor and likely not noticeable, except when doing a tile installation. Then it can be tricky. Sorting by size, And pushing variation into the grout line works best. Noone but the installer will ever know.

Finally! After 3 years of purchasing 4 boxes of these tiles I put them on our blank stair risers. I love the way it turned out. We had a surprise when we learned not all of our stair risers were 6 inches high and some were shorter and others were higher. We ended up using cutting some of the tiles to fill in gaps and used solid Talavera tiles to cap the ends. The solid tiles were purchased from another vendor. We love the way it turned out. It really adds beauty, pop of color and character to our home. The tiles aren’t perfect and have some variances in size, thickness and pattern. It’s fine for us because we know they’re homemade and not perfect. I also liked how there were so many different patterns that we received to really rotate and mix up their use.
