If you are asking about an specific model to place the momory in, there are two things that you can do to be 100% sure that it is compatible. 1) go to Crucial's website and download their verification software. The software will scan your system and present to you all possibilities for memory to that system (this is the best way) - then you can select what to purchase. 2) Go to Crucial's website and input directly what you are looking for.All I can mention is that I have done the above steps several times (several machines) and all memory has been 100% compatible, easy to install and easy to be recognized by the system.

Is this compatible with the 2017 iMacs?

Yes, the 16GB X 2 modules set (for 32GB total) was compatible with my 2017 27inch iMac. Just keep them alternated, starting with the biggest-sized module (i.e. Crucial) from the bottom, then the module the iMac came with, then the Crucial one again, and finally the the module the iMac came with.

I can't say with 100% confidence but the HP uses DDR4 2400 SoDimm 260-pin memory modules so the Crucial should work just fine.
