Great Stool!
I have been very pleased with this stool. I read all the reviews before purchasing and many of the "negatives" aren't really negatives to be too concerned about. Yes the bottom slips too easily, so I added little grippers on the bottom...problem solved. Another complaint was the space in the front of the stool. It does not sit flush against the cabinet because of the angle of the front of the stool. This has not been an issue whatsoever for my 2 year old. There's a small gap there, but not nearly large enough for her to fall through or get her foot caught etc. I watched her carefully at first to make sure, now its not even a concern. I like the height of the stool, my daughter can climb up and reach the faucet no problem, so hand washing is really easy. Its also very easy to keep clean. It was easy to assemble as well. All the pieces were numbered and instructions were very simple and easy to understand. Overall, very happy with it, great purchase.

Strong and Sturdy Stool!
I ordered this stool as a gift for my five-year old niece. She is not quite able to reach the clothes in her closet and I thought this would be perfect for it. I wanted a stool with two steps so that she could get up a bit higher, but I needed it to be sturdy and solid. I was looking at plastic step stools because they seemed to be less expensive compared to other wooden steps. Admittedly, I was a bit concerned about the quality of this based on the price. I decided to take a chance on it, and am glad I did! The stool came securely packaged from Amazon, but it was not assembled when it arrived. The directions were clear and I was able to put it together with a screwdriver and the included hardware in about ten minutes. Once together, the stool looks great. It is a bright white finish and was able to be washed down easily. What you can't tell from the picture is how sturdy it is. It is well built and solid, but it is not too heavy. My niece is able to pick it up and move it without effort. The back legs on the stool angle out just a bit which make it nice and stable. I will be buying another one of these for use in the bathroom as well. I would recommend this product to anyone with young kids and wanting something that looks nicer than the basic plastic step stool.

Melissa & Doug vs. KidKraft Step Stool - M&D Wins
I couldn't quite decide between Melissa and Doug's step stool or KidKraft's. Since I needed two, I bought both. Here are my thoughts: KidKraft - Harder to assemble (I find their screws strip easily, have had this issue in the past) - Scratches easily (came with a few and already scuffed up) - The angle in the back makes it hard to put up against the sink like others mentioned - Is solid wood which I like but added to difficulty to get the screws to catch - No rubber grips from the bottom, so worry it will slide more easily on the ground Melissa & Doug - Easy to Assemble - Sturdy - Particle board but I find that it's very solid and strong - Slightly wider than KidKraft it feels like and my daughter can climb up it easily on her own - Rubber grips for the bottom keep it from sliding I put non-slip tape on both to be safe. Overall, both are good products and look good. But if I had it to do over again, I'd buy two Melissa & Doug step stools. I'm using these for the sink, not sure about them for potty training.

Sturdy, stable, easy to assemble -- perfect for kids ages 2 - 5 who need a boost!
The KidKraft Two Step Stool is an ideal step stool for young kids who need a boost. We bought it so that our daughters (ages 2 and 4) could reach the bathroom sink on their own when brushing teeth, washing hands, etc. The stool is well built and easy to assemble. Just line up the parts and install the screws to end up with a very solid and functional stool. The finish is smooth, so it could be slippery for kids wearing socks, but so far, we haven't had any accidents and the kids love it. Both girls can stand on it at the same time, despite its fairly small size, and it is stable enough that it doesn't tip or fall over. Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice little stool.

I usually like kidkraft
The first one we got was previously used or very poorly produced during development. The company sent us a new one that still wasn’t of great quality but much better than the first one. The stool didn’t build straight so there are small gaps between the boards but not the end of the world. What I don’t like the most is that the stool leans away from the cabinet it sits in front of. I thought I’d prefer light weight but my one year old can easily move it and as he climbs on it, you have to really watch it doesn’t move while he is climbing. More seriously you have to watch that he doesn’t step off between the stool and the cabinet as the stool would easily push away from the cabinet and he’d fall to the floor. The stool is in our bathroom so he can wash his hands after using the potty and I make sure there is not water left around or on it as I haven’t been impressed with its quality. Despite the extra care, the wood has still seem to split as if it sat in water on one corner. Idk how else to prevent this as wiping up the water on and around it after each use doesn’t seem to help. I wanted to love it but just can’t seem to even like it at all.

So sturdy I broke my foot running into it!!
We love this step stool. It’s super easy to assemble and the bright white looks very clean. I bought some grippers and applied those right away and they’ve worked great for when our son wears socks on it. It’s the perfect height for our tall bathroom vanity so our 2 YO son can wash his hands easily and independently. And most importantly it’s extremely sturdy!! Short story I had to jump forward in our bathroom and hit my foot into this step stool and broke my foot in 3 places. Also my husband and myself have stood on it without issue, my husband weighs close to 200 lbs.
