Holding up 3rd year in!
I followed the instructions. I used 4x4 pressure treated lumber as a frame and stapled the grid to it. I then hand compacted 3/4 inch gravel with a tamper. Then I topped it with decorative 1/4” River stone. I also hand tamped the decorative stone layer. It’s the best and least expensive thing I could do and has given me years of joy and made my yard so much more functional. This part of my lawn used to flood in heavy rains but now is elevated and usable no matter the weather. Just make sure you cover the grid completely and don’t crush the cells when filling.

Surprisingly effective for steep driveway
This was the only thing that helped us with our steep driveway, really effective at holding gravel in place. Tractor accidentally graded it and tore it, but the rest held up regardless. Great product. Buying again for another property

Does not hold gravel on a steep section of driveway
I bought four of these to hold gravel on a steep section of my gravel/roadbase driveway and these made the section worse. This section now is really soft and people have spun out and ruined the fabric. I installed very carefully according to the directions because I wanted them to work and because of how expensive they are. Total waste of money, the driveway is worse off now for having installed them.

Has its uses
Installs quickly, though a bit harder to fill. Unlike polyethylene interlocking grids, it requires being very gently when dumping a bucket of aggregate as it has little to no strength horizontally. Also unlike polyethylene grid, it is not suitable for areas containing animals, (dogs and horses in my experience), which can easily dig it up or pull it out, even with 2 or more inches of top fill. Nevertheless, it is a very good product and easy to deploy. I am knocking off one star because it is priced too high in my opinion.

Did not hold up well in the Driveway
Bought this for our parking area, but it wasn't made of a sturdy enough material, will have to look for a stronger version. This would work well on pathways I think.

Extremely Happy with this! Tried a couple, this wins!
I purchased two different brands/types of product for this job. Some with 8” cells and this with it’s 4” cells. The Dupont product is EVERYTHING I had hoped it would be. It’s a super stable walking path, no sinking or loud gravel sound. The description showed two contrasting descriptions of what I was buying. One said something like 4x54 feet or 8x27 feet. It said somewhere else something like 10 sq meters. I got the lessor amount and sent a note of dismay/complaint/grievance but, got no reply. Product fantastic!!! Read carefully what you’re buying. I completely regret using the 8” stuff, it’s difference is barely noticeable from just plain gravel. My feet sink and it even makes that deep gravel noise. I notice it also seems to want to float up out if the gravel, the dupont stuff stays put and the grey matches my rocks so when the gravel gets thinner, it doesn't really show. Wade in San Jose CA.

Works even on steep hills.
See YouTube for videos on how to install. This is important. We installed on a particularly steep section of a gravel walkway. It was so steep that the gravel was sliding down and causing us to lose our footing. We followed all instructions and now the hill is perfectly stable. The gravel never moves.

So far so good!! Happy camper!!
I was a little hesitant when I first purchased the DuPont Gridlock because of the cost, especially when you start laying it down and cutting it up to customize it for your needs, but the product is doing exactly what I needed, i.e., to hold pea gravel in place on a slope. Easy to use!! The biggest recommendation I can give is to prep, prep, and prep. Remove your weeds, even out the ground with pack (paver sand and 3/4" rock), tamp it all down, lay out the Gridlock with landscape spikes, cut out the areas you need (around big rocks and such), and pour your gravel in gently. Finally, tamp it all down one last time. I'm about half finished. I wanted to see how it held up before doing the other half. After about a week, everything is tight and right. No slippage or issues. Happy camper.
