I'm still learning all the features like ballistic computation and ranging
Update: Attaching 4 pics, to show the visibility on my scope. Realistically the pics look worse than the image on the screen, they are noticeably darker than what I see in the viewfinder. 18:30:41- Taken at about 50 yards, donkey and 2 sheep 19:59:29- Taken at about 125 yards, 7 cows inline 20:28:56- Taken at about 50 yards, donkey behind cattle panel 20:29:24- Taken at about 100 yards, tree line that cows walked behind (out of frame, that's the 19:59:29 pic) So I did a lot of research on different thermals and finally settled on this one. For your information (take it or leave it), here's my take. My range fan basically tracks from 150 yards, then to 200/250 yards, and then 400-500 yards at the far tree line across my pastures. I'm using it to knock the yote's back a notch or two and here's my take so far. At the 150 yard mark, I can clearly make out animals and see "the whites of their eyes", at the 200-250 yard mark, I can distinguish targets enough to take a viable shot even thought the pixelation is noticeable. Finally, at the 400-500 yard mark, I'm still practicing being able to distinguish targets, for example, the 5 larger "bumps" standing together in the pasture are clearly cows, but the small white dot running along the fence line, likely a coyote. I'm still learning all the features like ballistic computation and ranging, but so far I'm VERY impressed with this scope. If you are ready to make the leap into Thermals, this is a great scope to start with...

Great company
The scope is a game changer. The staff is great and able to help if there is any problems with the technology or the h operator of the device(haha). Great product

Solid overall unit
I've owned mine for almost three years. Would buy it again. The refresh rate is a little low, but I'd say the ATN Thor 4.5x 384 res is only marginally inferior to the Flir 60hz 640 res which my fiend has $$$$. I've killed a dozen coyotes and over a hundred pigs with it. Deadly. Tech support gets a 4 start rating as well. Had to send it back for a broken front lens (almost certainly my fault) and ATN got it back to me in a reasonable time, and covered the expense.

ATN ThOR-HD Drops the Hammer on the Competition
I researched several thermal optics for months. ATN's ThOR was the right fit. It was versatile enough to use as a monocular, and diverse enough to mount as a weapons sight. There have been lots of review comments about the difficulty of the menu manipulation. Really? We live in a world of smart phones and computers.... It wasn't that difficult. Use the recommended batteries, you'll be glad you did. I worked with a customer service rep: Milen (My) Y. Helpful, polite and informative. Thanks!! It's heavier that I expected, but there's a lot under the hood. Doo yourself a favor and make the investment.

Terrible quality control
The thermal scope is OK when it works, but it goes through batteries like crazy even when it works (It will go through 4 AA batteries in an hour) and it has broken twice. ATN fixed it and sent it back but it broke again and wouldn’t turn on right before my first hunt with the unit. Spent thousands of dollars getting to the hunt only to have a non-functional scope. For this much money, it should be more rugged. Will never buy another ATN product again.

IF YOU HAVE ZEROING ISSUES CHECK YOUR FRONT LENS FOR TIGHTNESS
I like this design better than the Thor 4, however it doesnt see at night as good at a Thor 4. I had to return this one however as the front lens assemble was extremely loose. And the scope would lock up when using RAV. At this point for a few hundred bucks more I just may get the Thor 4 as the battery life is superior along with the optics.

Thor hd series 384 thermal scope.
The scopes focus is lost during recoil, audio has failed to record except for some really weird scratchy electronic noise and the image quality has degraded drastically.
