A light shine. Light pomades usually have more. You can use this product for a good hold and then a light more greasy product as a top coat for extra shine.

can I run my fingers through my hair comfortably with this product or does it harden up?

I would say it depends on how much pomade you use. When I use a lot, my hair gets hard and it's difficult to run my fingers through my hair easily but when I use a fair amount, it's very pliable and it's as if there's nothing in my hair
