Good for college
This drying rack is ideal for a college student. It's easily collapsible so it won't eat up space when you're not using it, and it's made out of lightweight wood so you don't need to lug it around when you move out. Plus it comes assembled, and who ever wants to do that part of the work :DI don't really care that the material isn't the most durable or the fact that the bars have a rather cheap plastic coating. It's affordable, it's not an inconvenience, it hasn't gotten broken, and it dries my clothes without me having to spend $0.75 per load, so I'm quite content.EDIT 5/1/11: This drying rack has been passed around my hall several times. We have crummy dryers here that never entirely dry every piece of clothing in the load, and this provides a greener, easier, and more convenient alternative than paying for extra dryer time. This is definitely a college essential!

Good quality for the price
I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews of this product breaking. It arrived in a huge box to prevent breakage during shipment, and I’ve used it many times and I’ve never had any issues. Is it flimsy? Yes, but that comes with how lightweight it is. You just have to be careful with the product as you would with any product with such thin wood. Also I would recommend wringing the clothes out first to get rid of excess water, as that applies unnecessary weight on the poles. Other than that, it works well for the price, I can put about a weeks worth of laundry on one rack.

Complete and utter garbage
Do NOT waste your money. This is the item you want if you want to leave it in the packaging for decoration. This product is possibly the most poorly designed thing I have ever wasted money on. Zero durability. Barely stands on its own, let alone to withstand weight of any clothing. It had to be propped against a cabinet to not topple to one side to use. I used mine 3 times since I purchased it for hanging 6 or less damp cloth diaper covers. Next to no weight. On the 3rd time, two of the dowels, if that's what you want to call them because they are not actual wood but what appears to be pressed saw dust, broke loose from random places and the entire thing collapsed. I have never been so disappointed in a product and now have to fully purchase another item and be out quite a bit of money. The item is FAR overpriced for it's quality, which is zero. I attempted to use wood glue to put back in place, but as I said, the rods just disintegrate when you touch the "wood" so it's impossible. I would love nothing more than a 100% refund so I can replace the item I NEED that will work effectively

Hard to beat for the price
I've had this rack for about seven months now and use it for nearly every load of laundry. It saves money (and, perhaps, my clothing) by not using the dryer, and it's small enough to store folded in the closet when it's not in use. The rungs are strong enough for all of my clothes (jeans, sweaters, etc.), but I would refrain from doing gymnastics or drying your bowling ball on it as some other reviewers might be doing. My biggest problem is that it's so compact that some of the lower rungs are only good for drying really small things (like socks) and that some of the rungs are a bit close together, but I still don't have any problem drying my clothes, especially if I put it in an area with a lot of air circulation and maybe flip some of the heavier things (e.g., jeans) once. And, of course, just because it has so many rungs doesn't mean you need to use them all. That being said, I usually do, and it's enough to fit *almost* everything from my average load of laundry. (With maybe one more rung, I could fit everything. My washer might also be slightly larger than normal, and I usually don't mind having to find a creative place to dry a couple odd things.)In summary, this is a good, inexpensive, compact clothes drying rack. If I could, I'd make it just a little bit bigger, but all things considered, I think it's good enough (especially at this price point) for a 5-star rating.EDIT: Slightly less than two months after writing this review (and after owning this item for over 9 months), it did break, but not where I thought. I suspected the rungs were the weakest link, but in my case it was one of the thicker wood pieces on the side of the product. It sounds like this might have also happened for other people, as well. I'll reduce my rating to 4/5, but I still think this is a good deal for the price--just be sure to treat it like the slightly delicate item it seems to be. I took this as an opportunity to upgrade to their metal rack, which I also like and which seems to be stronger on the sides.

Does the job, but not super sturdy
Does the job, not terribly sturdy, but I guess that’s the cost for something such lightweight. Since I don’t need to fold it I used a little wood glue on each side to make it a bit sturdier, but you can’t do that if you plan fold it. I only hang light items on it but I wouldn’t recommend it for heavier items like winter jackets or thick sweaters.

Take care of it and it will take care of you!
Certainly not the best drying rack out there and because of the price it comes with some quirks.First thing is to be gentle not reckless with how you set this aside. I'm sure if your a rough person this Rack won't last too long. Reason it can be fragile is the quality of the wood they use is soft not a hardwood. The way the dowels all fit into place are fitted and not secure in another way other then friction. Ever once in awhile a rod may pop out and its simple to just set it back in.Second, and probably the worse part of this product is that the rods are wood covered with a thin layer of plastic like the label you might find on a soft drink bottle. This is what protects the wooden dowels from your wet clothes. If you center them on the rack you should have no problems. But if you have them too close to the sides its very likely the water can soak into the soft wood on the dowels and the rack. And slowly the wood will start to bend and twist making the structure weak.I have found that as long as you don't crowd the rack, make sure you wring out your clothes as best you can. Your rack should last quite awhile. I have had the same one for the last three years.
