I recently started a welding class and purchased the Uvex bionic face shield due to its great reviews from folks who have used it and wear glasses, I also purchased some of the 5.0 shade type goggles for cutting. Well after having used the goggles or attempting to with safety glasses and Rx glasses also I went looking for better options. This replacement lens has turned out to be one of the best purchases! I can see great! No fogging No pinching of straps No feeling like I'm in a tunnel or wearing blinders nice wide viewing area Can still see to grind even though shade 5.0 Extra protection for the face is a + One thing I would like to see would be a little more scratch resistance but other than that this combo really makes for one sexy bit of gear. Every time I get it out someone make a comment that is so bad a$$ looking and the best part is it really does work. If you have prescription glasses or even if you don't and you want a face shield that can pull double duty and not fog up on you in the process and fits comfortably then why are you still reading this go order it! Honestly while I really like the mask, and its extremely comfortable... I think the lenses could be made a bit tougher and thicker..and this one is a bit too dark unless working in bright sun, and not adequate for welding. Like it says, its not really a 'safety' mask..more of a spray shield. If you're working with anything very dangerous, make sure you wear protective goggles underneath this mask, they're not made to stop objects with much inertia. But again, this is a rating for the dark shield, not the mask. The masks are great, so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it at times.

Works great for cutting and grinding with torches and blades. It does scratch easily so it needs to be protected when not in use. I have this in one helmet and a clear in another so this one is used for specific projects where you need good protection and wide field of view. still need clear safety glasses because sparks will bounce off the inside occasionally and hit you in the face. Not cheap but will buy it again when needed.

Can be used to torch or plasma cut. Buy quality, only cry once.

It's pretty cool I could actually see through it but no one could see my face which makes it awesome😎
