Smooth flow, great color
This is a smooth writing ink that works as it should. The blue-black color is just right for business documents: it is distinct and easily findable among printed black text, but it doesn't contrast with black so much that your eyes automatically jump to it, making the black text difficult to concentrate on. This is the perfect color for signatures and notes, and is a subtle way to convey that what is written is original and not a (black and white) photocopy. The ink does not bleed or feather any more or less than any other fountain pen ink. As with all FP inks, the tendency to bleed is almost entirely determined by the pen nib and the paper used. It writes well, with minimal bleed-through on standard 20lb copy paper, making it useful for everyday business. It does tend to bleed through the thinner paper of legal pads, but it is fine for one-sided use.It is not a fast dry type, but with a fine or medium nib it dries quickly enough that it needs no blotting. The flow is smooth and consistent in all pens in which I have tried it.

Elegant handwriting
Writing with a fountain pen is just classy, in my opinion. These cartridges hold a reasonable quantity of ink and they seem to fit in a number of different pens. I am only on the first cartridge, but I am happy with the experience.

Nice ink.
I bought a Kaweco Classic Mini fountain pen, but didn't have any "short" International cartridges to put in it (it can't take a long cartridge or a regular converter). The ink flows well and has a nice hue, but the color isn't as saturated as my favorite Waterman Serenity Blue.Overall, it seems to be a good-performing ink and it's a good value for the money.

A very well-behaved ink
I bought these cartridges for my nine year old son to use in his Pelikano Jr. I was looking for something simple, inexpensive, low maintenance, and would clean up relatively easily should he create an ink disaster (ie not bulletproof/permanent/highly saturated). This ink definitely has delivered in all of these categories. It flows well and I’ve never had it hard start or clog a feed. It’s not a highly saturated ink but it doesn’t look washed out to me either. I’ve tried it in a few of my cheap pens that tend to dry out and hard start, let them sit for a month or two and they immediately start writing as if I had just inked up the pen the day before with no flow issues whatsoever. Whatever is in Monteverde’s ITF additive, it does seem to do what it claims. Overall it’s nothing bold, flashy, or overly exciting but it is extremely well behaved, works great for normal everyday writing and is a very low maintenance ink. As far as being a first ink for a child learning to use a fountain pen, I would say it’s been a winner!

A solid ink
The ink cartridges are a perfect fit for any pen that takes International Standard Short cartridges which performs well.

Not a true Red color
When installed, it's more of a pinkish color than a hard red color. Pink. Oh joy!

Cartridges fit well, ink flows smoothly
These standard ink cartridges for fountain pens are still considered to be cheating by some purists, who continue to insist that ink, by definition, comes in glass bottles (and in some cases, are suspicious of pens that didn't grow on geese!). I have a couple of different pens in regular rotation, and one I fill from a bottle while with the other I use the cartridges-- I like the idea of of filling my pen from a bottle, and the ease and simplicity of cartridges. When I'm going to be doing a lot of writing, or if I'm traveling, I use cartridges because my pens, like most fountain pens, have room for two in the barrel-- one "plugged" into the nib and a second one, reversed, in the barrel of the pen. Not only does the second cartridge give me an immediately available refill, it also ensures that the cartridge attached to the nib is kept securely in place. The Monteverde ink cartridges come in a variety of colors-- I'm currently using the blue-black, which I like because it stands out just enough against things printed in black and white when I'm signing papers, yet without the eccentric factor associated with, say, the brown and green inks I used when much younger.Recommended.

Excellent product, even ink flows
I started to use this in a Montblanc President fountain pen. I’ve been using the Montblanc branded cartridges for years and found that they release too much ink when writing . These are a perfect fit and work extremely well - highly recommended
