I had some network changes that made me unable to use that anymore. I wanted to run this printer off an old iMac running Ubuntu. This machine has no parallel port. This simple cable did the job. Hooked it up, turned it on, logged onto CUPS and there the printer was. Printed both the Ubuntu test page and web pages. Seems well made but I can't speak to durability yet.
