I bought this as i had gone into using candles to aid with heating our front room up and didnt want to rely on messy petrol lighters.This gadget is pretty good while it does take a little time to light anything, its safe, you have only an electric arc to worry about.Its got a good reach to reach the wick of most candles i think, fast to charge.The only negatives i have area) it can get clogged, so will need a regular cleanb) One charge does not last longb) Can be fiddly to light the wick.That saida) its quick to charge, i think 20 minutes or so to get full chargeb) easily and safely stored in a stationary tidyc) uses micro USB to chargeIt has a safey switch to turn off.Defo worth the money i think, i'd certainly buy another.

These are great. Charge lasts quite a few weeks. I use it for lighting our fireplace, camping fires and candles and it works every time. There's a little lock off switch for safety but still best kept out of kids reach. Because the handle is so long you can use it to easily light larger fires. Much better than a standard lighter.

I find myself needing to recharge it frequently, occasionally whilst using the device I notice the charge is down to a single point when it's barely been used since the last charge.Recharge Time: It also takes a reasonable amount of time to recharge fully. With the lower use time, I'd have to frequently recharge the device and there by reducing battery life.Overall, while the electric candle lighter has some excellent features, the concerns around battery life significantly impacts its overall usefulness. If you're looking for a reliable long-term lighter, you might want to consider other options.

I have an ancient gas hob and it's clicker ignition thingy gave up the ghost over a decade ago. I have been using refillable gas ignitors ever since and they are a pain to refill and not very easy to use so I had become quite used to a quite scary time when lighting the burners - sometime the gas ignitor would work first time and sometimes it wouldn't meaning I might get a massive flare when it did.This is so much more relaxing and reliable.To begin with the magic wand as I am now naming it - arrived with a full battery which I could see because when I slid the switch to 'on' the blue lights all lit up!I then tried it with my gas burners. No dreadful pause - as soon as the gas came on the little arc of zappiness on the magic wand (it appears when you press a little button) lit it quietly and efficiently in milliseconds. I switch it off immediately afterwards and put it ready to hand near the hob.I will be so happy to get rid of the refillable gas lighters now and can keep my remaining butane to fill my creme brulee torches.I am very happy.The magic wand arrives in a nice cardboard box that is easily recyclable and it comes with a little recharging cable that fits easily into my USB adaptor plug in my kitchen.I chose the black version.
