Do I need a release for this device and if so what style?

Hello! Fish Seeker doesn’t require a quick release. Releases are used with down riggers, not Fish Seeker. When a fish strikes, Fish Seeker flips and rises to the surface, so you just fight the fish, not the depth controller (Fish Seeker). Do not use weights or heavy line test with Fish Seeker. Use with ball bearing swivels.
