Confined Space Rescue Tripod 1200lbs Winch

Good quality product

The product arrived in two separate deliveries. No assembly instructions were provided which is ridiculous, but if you’re handy you should be able to figure it out. I used the product pictures on Amazon as a guide. The tripod is sturdy and easy to adjust. The winch, however, jams easily under load. The cable digs into looser cable underneath, causing it to get stuck. The spool ends also aren’t wide enough to contain all the cable when it’s loosely wound. The winch really needs a tensioner and a cable guide to ensure the cable is tightly and neatly wound around the spool. I used this product to lift two 300 lb planters filled with soil and plants so that I could slide a tray underneath. It worked well for that purpose. I’m not sure I’d trust it with a human.

Unit has no instructions and some alignment holes seemed to be not great. Bags that they come in are low quality for storage. Overall growth for price. How it last I will update.

No Building year or serial number on Tripod, no company name on Tripod, Not OHSA compliant. If parts need to be replaced, no information on Tripod. No instruction manual in package. Would have to be completely disassembled to fit into carry bag, which did rip apart on first use. It is not worth repackaging this Tripod and sending it back, It went into the Dumpster. My loss on the purchase cost, it is not worth my time.

Tripod works well, winch sucks.

Upon opening the package there was no instructions on assembly of the tool and the winch was missing completely which defeats the purpose for the tool. Later, turns out the tool is shipped in two packages which I did not see that it said that anywhere. 2nd package arriving 3 days later, did have the winch ect. in it. There was still no instructions on assembly of the tool. What they called an "Instruction Sheet" just listed all the items with the tool. With something lifting this much weight there needs to be instructions to properly assemble the tool safely!

We received this CSE set up two weeks ago. Today we went to use it for the first time, and the steel cable on the winch just snapped. First use! Obviously this is a difficult and costly item to return (and we don't even have the ripped up box that it came in anymore). I have messaged the seller and asked if they can send me a new winch or cable. Depending on their response, I'll update this review later. In the meantime, don't waste your money!

This rescue tripod is probably one of the least expensive options you can get for entry level equipment. That is where the good ends. Missing parts, no directions for assembly. Inferior materials. We will be using it as a practice tripod not sure if I'd trust my life with this. I had to go get better bolts and nuts to make it safer. All in all not a great peice of kit for rescue or confined space entry.

Looks just like the picture. Basically a great $500 spent compared to $3K plus. The winch works good. Hopefully I don't have to test out the retractable. For entry level confined space this is actually an excellent buy considering I was quite skeptical.
