The next time an opportunity came, I powered on the Epson, (by the way, setting it up was as simple as plug and play) put in my documents, and I was simply astonished with how easy it was to use the product to get the information out of my home and into the office of the accountant. That involved cutting binding off the documents and feeding those (no necessarily flat or square) pages through the document reader. Worked great on my M3 MacBook. Fast duplex scanning (guessing font and back page scanned in about 2 seconds). That included the OCR scanning to make the documents searchable. One possible concern was the Mac is telling me that I will need to get a new Epson driver since the current driver will not work on the next version of Mac OS. I have a true paperless setup, I scan 99% of all of my documents (bills, receipts, instruction manuals, etc) the first time I handle them then shred the originals. The only thing I don't shred are legal documens but I still scan them. I have a routine that every month I make an offsite backup copy and every year I make an additional archive copy. If you use the included driver disk with WIN10 there are a few important operational changes they made when they updated the drivers. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen to keep those drivers instead of letting it update. Scanning now requires a double press of the scan button whereas before it was a one touch operation.
