My flagpole came with cheap plastic clips/flag holders. These replacements are perfect and will last a long time. I recommend.

First time I saw this style of clip, I was awestruck by the brilliance of the design. Instead of a puny spring embedded behind the moving gate (that will rust within a week if used outdoors) it has a single piece of stainless steel wire, bent in a loop. The spring is provided by anchoring the 2 ends of the loop in an offset manner. One moving part! For years I have collected every example of this design I could find. I now have examples in 6 different sizes. My favorite are these made by Shonan, which incorporate a graceful shape with this genius design.

The clips are easy to use. HD no problem with using them

Many items advertised as stainless steel are not. This item is non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel (e.g. 316). The gate is a bent stainless steel wire. Most stainless clips have a small spring that corrodes, then the entire clip fails. This one has a clever bent-wire design that avoids the need for a separate spring. This wire is also 316 stainless like the body of the clip. So, the corrosion resistance of this clip is far superior to the ones you find in the hardware store. There is a downside to this design. The wire is a soft stainless steel instead of a strong, but corroding steel. The corrosion resistance comes at the price of multiple opening and closing cycles. The stainless wire will yield (lose its 'springiness') after dozens of cycles. So, if you want a clip to survive the worst environments while remaining strong - this is an excellent choice. If you want a clip to open and close frequently is a less hostile environment - look to cheaper alternatives. In my salt-water application, this one is perfect.

I tried another method (Charlevoix) which didn't work well at all. This was a good solution. I fastened them to the antenna and clipped them onto my burger. The clips work well and are very sturdy. Good value. I used 2 for my flag at the stern. I was glad they came in a package of four. The size was just right for the job.

Very sturdy and strong. Working great with two flags, a 4x6 and a 3x5 on a 40' flag pole. High winds and changing directions a lot with no issues. I would not go any smaller than these. I had some others same brand/style but were just under 2" and had a hard time with getting the flag grommets in. These are the perfect size!

I’ve used these clips for keys for years. So happy to find them on Amazon. They are the best. Perfect for keys, boating keys, etc. Stainless so salt water doesn’t hurt them.
