This works for our son !
Great protection for my son. My husband used a rope to tie the guard to the helmet together which works find. He did not screw it into the helmet like the direction.

Not using it for intended purpose, but works great
I bought this throat protector not for lacrosse but for ice hockey. I had previously had some near misses with skates to my neck and wasn't really satisfied with the protection offered by the neck protectors that wrap around your neck. I always found them to be too hot and didn't offer enough protection against slap shots. This lacross throat protector fit pretty easily on my helmet without much modification and offers good protection while not making it too hot under the collar so to speak!

Easy to attach. You will need to drill holes if attaching to a youth CS helmet.

Looks great but hard to take on and off.
This Guard Looks great on the helmet. We only purchased one to be shared between two goalies. This was a bad idea because it takes a while to take on and off. More importantly, if you have a goalie that switches to other positions, this guard is designed to be more or less permanently affixed. We're trying to figure out how to retrofit it with a snapping system.
