I want to out this on my engine valve cover?** A: You can use it as a top coat on a ceramic paint like vht and you should be ok. I would then ceramic coat on top with a true 9h ceramic coat. Otherwise cleaning means likely using some sort of solvant which may actual degrade or fade the effex. This is very good stuff. I have also used a pair of fishnet panty hose and applied the effex on small items it gives it more depth. Almost a carbon fiber look. Way easier than hydrodipping and far cheaper for a unique look. Lol 2015 ZL1 #988 Black/black **Q: Do you think I could spray this on a knife with metal handle scales or would it make the action too sticky?** A: If you spray the dark scales off the body should be no problem. But this isn't made for knives-it's made for non-wear use. Thinking of a light spray over black, can't find a true black metallic spray. Thanks!** A: No-it's not metallic. It's color changing, depending on the light source &angle. Sprayed over a gloss black, it's amazing, but not metallic. **Q: How large of area does one cover? Can it be used with Rust-Oleum automotive paint?** A: Don't know about area coverage, the cans usually list coverage by linear footage. Spraying in a straight line. A normal spray paint would list like 25 linear feet. Note that was a 12oz can, these are 7oz cans.
