Firmware updater just reports "failed" as in "we can't be bothered to write a useful error message in our software so we'll just print this one word and leave you to decide if it's about the keyboard, your purchase, the firmware update, or just your life in general." Infuriatingly, it _almost_ works which eggs you on. You think "just one more fix and it'll be perfect" but then you go down a Google rabbit hole of keypress combinations and firmware update helpers and advice like "stand on your head and drink water upside down while using your right pinky toe to press FN+1+J+G+home+CTRL (the right one, not the left one)+tilde (you know what a tilde is right?)+L+O+L..." etc. Just...don't. It's pretty. It's fun to touch.
