Edit: Overtone was kind enough to reach out to me regarding this experience. I know it’s not the normal and I’m changing my rating because I truly so love Overtone products. I won’t be buying this particular product again probably, but I’m excited to continue using their dyes. The copper turned out stunning and using it on its own this time has left my hair feeling better. Thank you for the customer support you showed, Overtone 🤍I will say, Overtone makes wonderful products. Usually I rarely have an issue with their dyes or toners. The copper dye I also ordered was lovely and left my hair feeling nice and soft. However for the first time I decided to try a more diluted copper hence I bought this mask to mix it with. Same dye. Mixed with this mask at a 1:3 ratio. It felt odd, thick and almost crusty when worked into my hair. I had so much trouble getting a good spread because it literally started stiffening. I’ve never experienced something like this. The test section I did didn’t originally have much of an issue. Yet once coated on my hair it was a disaster. Washing my hair out 10 minutes after application resulted in clumps on hair falling out even with being gentle. When trying my hair, more clumps fell out. I’m devastated because my hair is something I cherish. I chose this mask to dilute my dye because I didn’t want to ruin my hair with bleaching. Ironically it felt worse than bleaching.Overall: I’ll still 100% be buying Overtone products. But if you have fine hair. Please be careful with this and test it beforehand. I’m not sure if I received a bad batch maybe? This doesn’t seem like the norm.

I love the scent and the texture and the enlivening of my hair. The packaging is awkward in the shower. A large container with a large lid creates a slippery situation when showering. I’ve only dropped it once when it was almost empty, but I would have been upset if I’d dropped it more full and it had spilled. It’s nice and thick so a bottle with a smaller opening may not be feasible. I transfer a smaller amount to smaller container so that I don’t worry about it slipping from my soapy or wet hands.

I bought this again because it’s the only thing that detangles my dry curly hair. I love this stuff it makes my hair so soft and shiny. The only thing I don’t like is the smell. It reminds me of toothpaste. I will deal with the smell for the results

Ya know those wonderful little packets of conditioner you get in box hair dyes?Ya know, when your hair smells incredible and it feels so soft that you can’t help but run your fingers through it all week long? People complement you on the scent if your hair?This conditioner is the next best thing. My fingers are obsessed with it, and if you’ve ever used Overtone semi-permanent hair color, you know it smells yummy.I can’t find anything closer to the wonderful little packet in a box of hair color.Highly recommend!

It’s odd that a moisturizing mask would turn my hair to a dry, rough, straw like texture. It turns out it includes some ingredients that can contribute to this: Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, which can act as a varnish and make it hard for moisture to penetrate hair, and animations, which is a form of silicone, and silicones also contribute to build up and dryness. It turns out amazon sent the old formula. The new formula does not include these two ingredients. However the new formula includes pea protein and those concerned about protein overload would best avoid that. Used once and my hair suddenly looked and felt dry and rough. Will return

I had high hopes for this product, seeing many positive reviews. First of all, it smells bad, like medicine. For the cost it has a minimal moisturizing effect on my hair. Suave makes me hair softer for $.99

Makes my dry hair moist and soft. It is costly but worth it
