Its very easy to wind this watch manually, just take a look on youtube how to wind automatic watch

I don't know. It's probably a typo. It in fact does not use batteries. Had to shake it 20 times to start and with regular wear I have never had to worry about it stopping. Being an automatic it will lose time gradually however. I reset mine once every 2 weeks. (Just a heads up)
