Ran out of this product a few weeks ago, then suddenly started getting a little acne. That’s not normal for a 71 year old woman! Order is now in, and expect better skin when taking it again. Can’t tell you why this is happening (acne), but I am sure that this product was preventing it from happening prior to running out. Great product!

I might be slow to the party, but I never really suffered from acne, except a couple of zits around my menstrual cycle (which didn't stop at adulthood). But my two teenage daughters both have their dad's genes, I guess, because they have quite a bit of acne. I was thinking about how the prescription acne medication is really just a mega dose of vitamin A and it works really well, but it's quite dangerous to your health. So I wondered if a normal dose of vitamin A would do a pretty good job, and not be dangerous. I bought this and tried it, and also gave it to my daughters. I have not had my usual one or two a month zits since I started taking this. (I don't take it every day, just about that time of month.) My daughters' acne has cleared up quite a bit. I'm not sure how faithfully they take it, though, and I don't think they always eat a fatty food with it, which you really should do, because vitamin A is fat soluble, not water soluble. My father in law has always told his kids (who all have had pretty bad acne) that while he was living in Samoa, he rarely saw anyone with acne and he attributed it to a lack of red meat in their diet. I never really believed that, but my husband does, and he swears that he gets a zit every time he eats beef. But I found an article that was talking about a certain polynesian island where the inhabitants don't get acne, and it was also attributing that to a lack of all meats other than fish in their diets. The thing I found most interesting, though, is that the top two things they do eat, yams and sweet potatoes, are both high in vitamin A. I have not been able to prevail upon my husband to try taking this supplement, though. He thinks it's quackery.
