Thomas & Friends - Best of Thomas

Thomas the Tank Engine is a series based on childrens stories written by an English clergyman,W. Awdry. The engines all get into various troubles, and are all helped out by other engines{Thomas, James ,Gordon, Percy, Henry, Edward, Stepney,Rheneas are among some of the engines} and a lesoon is GENTLY shown, with a light deft touch. There are 8 stories on this DVD, 4 of the sing-along songs that are the coda on the VHS tapes,3 DVD games{What Number am I,What color Am I, you choose a color paint for each engine that matches,and Which engine am I} There are stoires{or biographies} of each engine,telling their stories as they come out of their sheds. This is a very good childrens DVD, the sound is superior to the tapes,and my 2 year old loved,loved, the coloring games . Thomas the Tank engine is a gentle sweet childrens series that seems to work best with little children. Excellent, and at a similar price to the VHS, a good deal to boot.VERY WELL DONE.

My 3yr old son is a Thomas fanatic and ever since he watched this the other morning, he constantly tells me he wants to watch "big yellow Thomas" (his name for it due to the picture). It is a great collection of the older Thomas shorts that is sure to delight Thomas fans.

I absolutely love Thomas and friends as an adult. My 2 year old son won't miss an episode, or mivie! I wish it was more educational than socially based but hey, it's a good, solid, honest tv program for kids and adults alike!

Our 22 month old is thrilled when we are playing with his Thomas trains and building tracks AND watching Thomas on TV for 30 minutes ...Amazon prime makes it so easy to dial up great Thomas episodes

My nephew likes Thomas a lot so that's why we watch, but I do notice it doesn't hold his attention like other cartoons. He watches for a bit and likes that Thomas is a train, but sooner then later he is ready to watch something else. We rarely watch Thomas if he isn't here, and none of my 4 children liked to watch him when they were young. He is a popular train so I know there are kids that follow him and his adventures. I just don't know any of them. I think you child has to have an interest in trains or like the characters to enjoy this program.

What's not to like about Thomas & Friends? Addi (age3) loves Thomas & Percy. She sings the theme songs and watches it over and over. Grandma loves watching Thomas too!

These stories are narrated wonderfully and deonstrate the importance of courage, friendship and trust. My son, who is 2, absolutely loves evening Thomas! It's a timeless show for children!

It's one of the first ones... we love Thomas but the first episodes are a little stodgy in the storytelling and animation. I really can't handle the crazy eye-roll thing they had the engines do as a way to show emotion... it's like a strobe light, good in theory crazy making in the delivery. I really can't take it! My toddler really likes Thomas but even she can't tolerate it and it throws the infant into full blown screams of terror. Yeah we've banned the older episodes from our Roku because of the evil eye(s). (Trust me, I never thought I'd have this much to say about an animated show.)

1歳7ヶ月の息子には、難しい様ですが、トーマスの表情などを見ているだけでも、楽しいようでよく見ています。　語りの英語は聞きやすいので、お母さんの英語の勉強にもなり、親子で楽しめますよ。

トーマス大好きの２歳の息子の為に購入しました。日本語版のビデオと違ってそれぞれの機関車が違う声で話すのではなく、ナレーターの方が一人で話しているので見てくれるかなぁ？と思いましたが、喜んで見ています。トーマスシリーズのビデオはたくさんあって、どれを購入するか悩むと思いますが、「Best of Thomas」は他のビデオより多くのストーリー（８話）＋歌も入ってて、パーシーが主役のような「Thomas Perdy and The Dragon」（日本語版の題名は「パーシーとりゅうでした」）も入ってて、初めて買うのにお勧めです (^-^)

NHKの新しいアニメを見慣れた子供は、こちらの映像のものは同じ番組とは思わなかったようでした。曲は楽しそうでしたが、残念ながら本編は全く見ませんでした。
