Good taste with smoothies.

I’ve taken this product for years, this seriously has built up my immune system. I rarely ever get sick. When I start to feel something coming I load up on this and vitamin c1000 and I’m good the very next day.

Highly recommended good source of greens

First, I need to point out something to Garden of Life that was distressing to me about the delivery of this product. You know this is a product that is temperature sensitive in that it has live probiotic foods in it and foods whose nutritional contend are sensitive to too much heat...Sadly the box containing the product was put on my front deck in direct sun, and was out there for, I'm guessing, about 2 hours before I discovered it. Of course the delivery driver could not know what was in the package so I don't blame him, but I think Garden of Life needs to do something to alert drivers to the sensitivity of this product. Literally, it was hot in my hand when I removed it from the box and remained that way for several minutes. And I know that destroyed nutrients in the product. One of my reasons for buying this product is that it is a living product, not dead organic matter! So now, my order is dead from that exposure to extreme heat and I feel like I can't get the full benefit from the product due to that loss. Something needs to be done so that deliveries are not left in direct sunlight like that! Drivers can be ALERTED Regarding this! Please get this safeguard in place, would you? Aside from my concern the product has been compromised by the heat, I've been using it for 5 days and, though it's a bit risky to give a 5 star rating so soon, I'm very happy with the product as far as how it tastes and how it mixes in water. All green products, such as this, do have some mixing issues so it isn't perfect but it is definitely okay how well it mixes. I like the taste, but then I like the taste of green healthy foods. Still each time I have it, I am troubled that part of its intended goodness (that I paid GOOD money for) was forfeited due to heat. I sincerely hope an ALERT can be given to the drivers to place it in the SHADE!

I have been using Garden of Life Green Superfood supplement for several years. I try to have it everyday...or at least every other day (because this stuff gets expensive!!). I have also used the Alkalyzing and Detoxifying blend and I like both of them just fine. I usually use the superfood powder in conjunction with Vega One Protein & Greens in the chocolate flavor. In the three or so years that I have been using this product and having my smoothie almost everyday, I think I've been sick--maybe--twice. And both times it was a fairly minor head cold. That's it. If I miss my smoothie for a few days, my body will tell me so. I can feel the difference. This stuff is just that good. I have seen a lot of reviews that complain about the taste. I have developed a recipe with this stuff that is delicious and I am happy to share... I have a Ninja and I just use the single serving smoothie cups that came with it. I start with half a BANANA, a few chunks of PINEAPPLE (fresh or frozen--I mostly use fresh. It's a pain in the ass, but in the long run it's cheaper to chop and freeze it yourself), then I throw in a few frozen whole STRAWBERRIES. Then I fill the cup with CRANBERRY JUICE almost to the fill line. Blend all that together first. Then open the lid and add your greens powder (and in my case, protein powder as well--I always use chocolate. Really hate the vanilla.) Blend it all together one more time and your smoothie is done. Takes a grand total of about 6 minutes. And it's really good. the cranberry juice has enough punch to mask the "greens" flavor so that it's not bad. And the pineapple gives it a sweetness. For me the taste is very refreshing. Don't get me wrong, you can still tell that there's green stuff in your glass, but it's not harsh at all and your palate will easily adapt. Taste was one of my initial concerns when I started several years ago, I knew that if I didn't like it, there was no way I'd stick with it. More than 3 years later, I'm still drinking my vegetables almost every single day and I love it. For variations on flavor...cherries are good, raspberries, blueberries. I like the mix of strawberry and mango as well. But no matter what berries I use, I've always got three base ingredients: Banana (gives it a smooth consistency), pineapple (just adds a fresh, zesty sweetness to the flavor), and cranberry juice (masks the "greens" flavor). Trust me, this works. And if you don't have any bananas on hand, try yogurt. Smooth texture is key. The taste is a little different, but it's still really good. Hope this helps some folks! I have used this brand before it was available on Amazon- always great quality- I stopped taking it when I ran out and when I started up again I didn't ramp up to full scoop I forgot and just drank one scoop first day- digestive track paid a small price w that mistake- cheap brands won't do that b.c they are deluted and not high quality. I read the instruction and did what they say and I'm really happy.
