## Description

Ten years ago, tragedy struck the Russell family, leaving the lives of teenage siblings Tim and Kaylie forever changed when Tim was convicted of the brutal murder of their parents. Now in his 20s, Tim is newly released from protective custody and only wants to move on with his life; but Kaylie, still haunted by that fateful night, is convinced her parents' deaths were caused by something else altogether: a malevolent supernatural force -- unleashed through the Lasser Glass, an antique mirror in their childhood home. Determined to prove Tim's innocence, Kaylie tracks down the mirror, only to learn similar deaths have befallen previous owners over the past century. With the mysterious entity now back in their hands, Tim and Kaylie soon find their hold on reality shattered by terrifying hallucinations, and realize, too late, that their childhood nightmare is beginning again.

Review: I am very particular to what is good and what is not - I saw this movie in theaters in April 2014 and was absolutely creeped out by it! I am an absolute fan of horror movies. Consequently, I am very particular to what is good and what is not. Recently, very few horror movies have done it for me. This one takes 2 separate stories and combines them, which is confusing to some. That's the point. The mirror lets you see what it wants you to see. I love the way this story blending strengthens the point. When I received the DVD, I was just as unsettled watching it as I was in the theater. So far, it's one of my favorite horror movies!
Review: 30 minutes of Terror - Oculus: Chapter 3, Man with a Plan, a emarkable flm by Mike Flanagan, was one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time. Without going into too much detail, the movie is about Tim Russel (Scott Graham) who believes a haunted mirror killed his parents. That is just the premise. It starts slow, but is alwasy constantly building. First it - the mirror - is brought in, and from the moment it arrives, things start getting weird. The entire movie takes place in a white room, brightly lit. I mean, all of it. Every frame of footage is in this one room with one man talking to a triad of cameras and a mirror. I never thought that a "bright" horror movie would work, until I saw Oculus. Trust me when I say this; Oculus works better than most movies that come out of Hollywood. There aren't a whole lot of "Black Cat" scares in the thing, other than a few well placed moments (Alarms anyone?), but the tension and suspense jsut keep building, and building. Not a lot is shown, which I think is a good thing because it heghtened the uncomfortable feeling. I actually found myself glancing away from the screen because I was afraid of what might show up. Finally there is the opening monologue - hell, this whole movie was one long monologue. But the history of the movie told by Timothy scared me down to my socks. This move was superbly acted, directed, and written. If you want to see something unique and scary, then watch this movie.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Long Time Coming
*by J***I on November 6, 2020*

Went to this film when it first came out with great anticipation. A haunted mirror it had tremendous multiple story potential. But it was not to be the case. It was just a few people in a one house that were affected by it's evil. Don't get me wrong the film was OK, but what a let down. Because of that I never bought the DVD when it was released later. Finally in October 2020 I did add it to my collection just so I could do a review. Especially when I watched the director and screen writer talk about their production. Think of this you have more than a 400 year history in this evil mirror that is known. Where did it evolve from? Who made the evil that resides within? How many different realms can be within evil and fantasy alike? If you were able to step through the looking glass to coin a phrase. What evil or fantasy world would you step into at any one time. How many different worlds can exist? I would say an infinite number more than likely. Take 2 full length mirrors and put them face to face and the step in between them. Exactly how many planes do you see or can count? How many different evil beings are caught inside unable to escape. Could you control what world or where you went once you crossed over. Would you be able to exit back to your own world again? Is every realm evil within? Or as in most cases does good and evil exist everywhere in time and dimensional space? This film could have become something much much more. Many more franchise movies could have spawned from it. Or even a long running series with multiple actors in multiple worlds. All in the fantasy of good or evil existing in one piece of thin mirror glass. Just let your mind wonder within the possibilities. Thank you for allowing me to express my thoughts. - JIMI
