Great kit!
I saw this and wanted to build it, but read the reviews concerning the fact that it should not be your first Metal Earth kit. I had never built a Metal Earth kit before, so bought a simpler one to try it. Then I got this. Challenging, yes. But if I could build it after only building one other kit, then it's definitely not impossible! The biggest problem is that the instructions are a bit lacking in showing the orientation of parts for assembly. You really need to understand the instructions but also need to look to see how the assembly fits together with the other assemblies before building that step. It's crucial to understand both because you'll probably find some places where the instructions don't tell the whole story. For me, I would build a few steps, then put it aside and come back later. If you try to bite off too much at one time, you'll get tired and sloppy! That aside, I also found that I needed to buy a second kit. That's because at the start, I broke a couple of critical pieces due to re-bending. I'm glad I did that. Came in handy! But the results are excellent and made it worthwhile. It's also worth it to get one the inexpensive tool kits for building this type of model. Oh yeah, the skulls at the base are available here on Amazon!

Difficulty level is understatement
Awesome fun but this is an advanced model. Made multiple models and this was by far the most difficult to build. Crazy glue needs to be handy as multiple parts are very fragile. Had great time but don’t build in hurry.

Not for the faint of heart.
I have 46 Metal Earth models (I don't have a problem, I swear 😉). This one definitely was the hardest to do. But not for the reasons you think. Yes, assembling all of the 200+ pieces was time consuming and challenging, but it was the eyes that were the hardest. I almost threw the model out, that's how hard they were. But in the end, I won and finished it. Word of advice to the next wood-be builder, practice on the much cheaper and smaller models first. The instructions are not always clear and practicing on other models gives you a feel of how the metal bends and how the instructions flow. I like to think I've reached "expert" level and completing this model proved it! 👍

Too difficult to assemble
Terrible. We couldnt even get the pieces out of the sheet to even start to build it. We used tweezers and pliers per the instructions. The pieces are so ridiculously tiny. We got the 5th piece out and ended up breaking it trying to bend it into a square from flat. Don't waste your money

Very very cool
Very cool metal model and not at all for beginners I gave the 2-star in that category because it's a great model but not for newbies. Easy to assemble is not how I describe this model. It's clear enough in its directions and all its just an overall hard model if you want it to come out correctly and of close to the real deal. Still, this is a model I've personally been waiting for and I'm glad to see its finally out and iconic as ever. Only gripe I have is that its stand is not a pile of skulls like in the movie. That should be an upgrade option later on, I would get it in a heartbeat.

From someone who is experienced with metal models
I have given this company a lot of my money because I love what they provide. Their metal models are tedious, time consuming, but very rewarding in the end. Even the simplest models take precision and care. I have messed up a few models before just by making one simple mistake. It's almost impossible to fix unless you want to solder your mistake, because once you bend the metal tabs, unbend them, and try to bend them back, they just break. That's just how it is and it's actually one of the challenges I love about these models. You have to look at steps before you do them and triple check you have the correct piece. I have done over 30 of these metal models from this specific company. Some of them I have done twice because of mistakes or because I really enjoyed that specific model. I just want to make it abundantly clear that I fully understand these models, and I know when I make mistakes it's not the sellers fault. I know a lot of these models are not for the typical crafter, and they are certainly not for children. But I genuinely love them and love this company. This specific model is impossible to make correctly. There is a very very small chance that I am wrong, and it is possible, but with that being said, even if that is true... I would consider myself an expert at these models. If I can't do it I'd wager that very few people would be able to. The nature of this build is so intricate and a lot of the pieces look similar. The time consuming part of this particular model was not putting it together, but ensuring I had the right piece. It took me 15-20 minutes with some pieces to ensure it was in fact the correct one. And there are so many tiny pieces... But again I love these challenges and I was particularly excited about this build because my boyfriend is passionate about Terminator. I am VERY confident that I put this together the way the instructions told me to. Because I have followed these instructions so many times. The technical problems with this are hard to explain but I will do my best. They have you build like the body of the thing first, and then you attach the legs and by the time I got to attaching the legs it was impossible to attach them. This is because there is a lot of tension on the "trunk of the body" part. It looks kind of like a car engine to me. But putting it together it should be compressed. But the two sides of the trunk push outwards. And it ends up looking asymmetrical and wonky. Even trying to compress the trunk together while you attach pieces doesn't work because as soon as you let go it pushes outwards, open like a book. I continued on building anyways, believing that it would all come together when you added more pieces to it. But the tension inside shifts the pieces around, which shifts the female inserts where the metal tabs are supposed to go. And if you have done any of these models before you know that the female inserts have to be perfectly alligned to work. I have had trouble with tension on another build I did from this company, (the titanic model) but the instructions accounted for that. And it was very very very difficult, but you could work against the tension and get the metal tabs where they were supposed to go. With these if the tabs are even slightly out of place you can't just bend and force the tabs in. But with this terminator model it isn't slightly out of place. It's over a cm off. And one of the female inserts ended up inside of the trunk of the body. When I got there I quit because I knew it was hopeless. It's a lot of time and money put into this model but I really don't mind because I do love what this company provides. I didn't attempt to get my money back or get a replacement because it's not a big deal to me. I like supporting what they do. But I think it's important that I leave a review about this specific model so people understand they are in for a crazy (maybe impossible) challenge. I believe in my heart that I either got a defective set of pieces, or this is a model that works on paper but not in practice. I lean towards the latter, but even putting myself in your shoes assuming that it was user's error... I would make sure you really know what you're getting into before buying. Buy a smaller model that's easier and cheaper and see how you like it before this. For first time users I would recommend the ferris wheel, or mail truck. Not too easy, but not too hard for first time users. I may buy another one of this model one day when I have the money, and I will update my review if that happens. But I put a lot of work into this even though I couldn't get halfway through. And it was a real letdown when I found out I wasn't going to have the reward of my hard work in the end. I still have the set unfinished somewhere in my craft stuff. If I find it I will take a photo so you can see what is wrong with the trunk of the body, but until then you will have to trust my review. I gave this two stars instead of one because I love the company, and their other metal models are worth doing if you have the patience. I have autism which might be why I am able to hyperfocus on the task and enjoy it, while others look at the pieces I am working with in horror. People who see me working on these usually gasp and say they could never do that. I think anyone could do these if they wanted to... Just not this specific one lol Good luck and I hope this is helpful!

Good build
This is one of the most detailed models I have put together. 27 pieces for the upper thigh alone! But so satisfying when done. I was so glad that the metal was sturdier than the other models that I have put together. You'll need to wrestle some parts into their tabs and the metal was able to withstand some manhandling :-). All in all a wonderful model and it looks so good on my desk. Definitely not for beginners.

He devuelto el artículo, nada más que porque era muy complicado para la persona que se lo iba a regalar, porque la verdad está genial. La empresa me ha atendido estupendamente, se han puesto ellos mismos en contacto conmigo, sin ningún problema, muy agradecida.
